Hi Manoz.QA ,

Admin password is the windows password .If you haven't set any password then kindly login to the system as administrator. ( If you want to check if you have logged in as administrator then go to control panel and check under user accounts .Then click on manage user accounts where you can see if your name is listed as the administrator ) .

Now that your system is on A8 Bios version ,below you will find the file with the subsequent Bios versions .Kindly install them in the same sequence ,

*Click here for Bios version A09,

*Click here for Bios version A11,

*Click here for Bios version A12,

*Click here for Bios version A13,

*Click here for Bios version A14,

*Click here for Bios version A15,

*Click here for Bios version A16,

*Click here for Bios version A18,

*Click here for Bios version A19,

After installing these versions then install A20 version .

Do reply to this post after installation is complete .Awaiting your response .

I have a similar issue with a machine here in our workplace.  Was this issue solved? and if so how?

Did all the basic troubleshooting as listed above.

- checked speakers, cables, ports

- test sound in the BIOS works fine

- updated BIOS to the A20

- reinstalled chipset and latest sound card drivers

- latest windows updates as of 7/16/15

- checked volume settings and configuration

-WIndows 7 sees when the speakers are plugged in or removed, but no noises or sound from anything.

Hi Winc707,

Thank you for writing to us! My name is Jennifer and I work for the Dell Social Media Team .

Here in this case you have mentioned that you have updated the BIOS , Chipset and audio drivers .

Was this issue seen after any changes that were made to the system ( software/hardware ) .

Just wanted to confirm on system startup are you able to hear the windows chime sound .

Also via private message send the service tag of the system ,operating system version ( 32 or 64 bit ) information .

Awaiting your response .

Kindest Regards ,

Thanks for your help.  I was able to get it working.  I reimaged the computer, ran dell command, windows updates, and it started working again. Thanks for your assistance.
