AW3423DW, problems

After i got my alienware aw3423dw there are few things that bothering me about this screen.

1) its feels like when i put the screen refresh rate on 144 insead of 175 the movment on the games is more smoth.

2) i have an old ultrawide 34 inch IPS pannel from LG and on this screen even if its way less better still its feels the games moving way more smoth then the alienware aw3423dw.

3) i know that the alienware aw3423dw say its coming with the best acurate colors , but when u watch a movie with it its feels like the colors are a bit to much vivid ,and the people \ things on the movie not looking like they really should be look.they are looking more colored , not like the people are really looks and so on for objects .

thats are the only things that are bothering me about the screen ,

tell me your opinion what you think about it.

Thanks for reply

The monitor is controlled by the video card on the computer. What model computer do you have?

1. I am assuming you enabled Gsync in the Nvidia driver? Did you also install the monitor driver? Do you have Vsync enabled on top of Gsync?

2. Are you using DP, or HDMI connection?

3. What color space did you select from the monitor menu? Are you using HDR in windows desktop mode?

Your issue could be related to the Gsync module. Can you try without Gsync to see what the results are?

1)I tried it with gsync enabled and whitout, yes i did install the screen driver, i did have vsyng enabled will gsync was on since i read somewhere that you need to have it on to have gsync working.

2)im using DP.

3)i use standard and game mode , i tried both they looking the same , also i activate HDR only on games that suporting it.

vsync and gsync have nothing to do with each other and vsync should always be disabled as a rule. The only time vsync can be good is if your monitor doesn't have variable refresh rate, which isn't the case with this monitor.

If it feels more smooth running the monitor at 144Hz than 175 Hz you may be maxing out the capability of your graphics card. You have to make the call whether you want the fastest frames at the cost of frame time consistency or not. Your older monitor probably also has a slower refresh rate, which would mean more consistent frame time coming from your graphics card.

Game mode in colours does make the colours more vivid. If you don't like that in movies, use the movie mode, which is a less processed colour gamut closer to the original content. Also you didn't mention whether you enabled HDR in the Windows settings. There are HDR settings both for the desktop and in games. If HDR is set for the desktop colours will appear more vivid because of the additional dynamic range but they will still be accurate. If you don't like that, disable the HDR in the Windows settings.
