Hi @MaverickMat,

Is the BIOS version up to date?

Have you tried reinstalling the Control Center? Please check: Installing and Configuring the Alienware Control Center

I have tried both of those options and still no results.

I have the same problem with the keyboard settings being lost.

Keyboard plugged in to Alienware monitor , which is in turn connected to Alienware 17R3 laptop.

Interestingly the monitor does not appear in the Alienware control panel, so I cannot set any colours using that software.

Same thing here. This didn't start until most recent Alienware Control Center update. Hopefully they will address in the next update, and hopefully soon.

These are the instruction I am following to save the setting:

Static

To configure your Alienware device with static lighting.

- Touch or click on the static button (Figure 3).
- Touch or click on the color wheel to select a color.
Note: Add color presets by selecting a color on the color wheel and dragging it to the presets.
- Drag the intensity slider to the right to increase the color intensity, or drag it to the left to decrease it.
- Touch or click Update Lighting Present to save the selected settings.

App says these are all up to date, is this correct?

Same problem here on 2 different systems. Set the color then it eventually resets to some other color or a rotating color scheme

Try to download the latest command center from this page.  When I did, I noticed the mouse image was on the command center to be able to change the color of it. I noticed that you probably have to download the newest drivers on the website support that has the drivers.

Was this ever resolved? I recently bought this keyboard (two), and I keep having the same issue. It'll remember settings, then randomly lose the settings. If I factory reset, it'll reset and remember settings...until it doesn't.

I have EVERYTHING updated and installed, so it's not a matter of firmware or the control center. What else is there to try?

I can't seem to get the newest alienware elite mouse (959?) to save it's lighting on the new command center or old...

Goes to the fugly default teal until I open the command center and my lights go red again after selecting mouse profile. It's annoying, but the keyboard saves and loads it's saved profile just fine.

Hi,

I was searching for a solution for the same problem and thought to share mine as well.

I have an Alienware laptop 15R3 which I am connecting a 34" curved AW3418DW monitor, on the monitor I am attaching my Alienware keyboard AW768 and a Logitech mouse 903 + wireless mouse pad from Logitech as well.

My firmware and BIOS are all up to date, however when I set my keyboard colour profile, I also have to reset several times a day or whenever I restart my laptop.

The only peripheral I can see on the AW Control Center is the keyboard AW768, I cannot see the monitor, neither the keyboard from the laptop. On the AW command Center, I can see the laptop LEDs, the Keyboard and the monitor, however if I try to modify the LEDs on the Keyboard AW768 from the Command Center I get an error and the software shuts down.

today is 24th September 2018, and I still could not find a solution for my problem.

anybody out there with a smarter brain to help solving this?

I already tried to reinstall all softwares, but it did not solve the issue, unless there is a magic sequence where each component needs to be installed.

Thanks

Rabbit

Same problem here, Alienware AW768 keyboard with alienware 17 R5 laptop, the keyboard keeps randomly going to spectrum mode and back to the custom setting I setup in command center it also seems to mess up my typing with a sudden stutter when it goes into wacko mode and will mess up my typing as if I had a sticky key for about 2 seconds. Tried removing and reinstalling command center as well as peripheral drivers and problems still persist. Firmware is latest on keyboard as well as my laptop. Anyone here know of a fix?

I too am having this issue where the keyboard will go back to it's default colors and forget that I set macros. I have two of these keyboards. One on an Alienware Area 51 R2 system and one on a non alienware system. It remembers what the macros are, I just have to pair the macros to the macro keys again. This has been happening for two months now, and I finally started looking for a solution.

The alienware control center seems to be one of the most important pieces of software for alienware computers, but it is also the most ignored and outdated...

Sad...

I'm also having the same issue for months now, on both my AW keyboard and mouse. Any updates regarding finding a solution?
