Do system restore to a time it was working. Thats what I would try after all else fails.

I've pretty much given up on AWCC, at least when it comes to overclocking my RTX card. I'm using the MSI program instead. Much easier.

AWCC is a giant pain in the butt every time they release an update. The steps you need to go through to uninstall this part, then that part, then make sure your registry is cleaned -- ARE YOU SERIOUS, DELL?!?  This is 2019. A software update should be nothing more than a simple download and nothing else.

After a few more full uninstall and reinstall attempts I got it working, with the exception no longer having the OC presets. Which for some reason only lowered overall performance of the Aurora R8.

I have to agree, the only other program that functions along side the 2070 in the R8 is MSI Afterburner. Other fan programs which worked perfect on my R7 make the GPU fan insanely loud even at low fan speeds which makes no sense. But for some reason is nice and quiet all the way up to 70% fan speed using the MSI program. Another thing I noticed between my R7 and R8 is the quality in the top and front fans. In the R7 both the top and front fans were completely silent up to 44% fan speed. With the R8 though, just at 30% they get irritatingly loud. Would of been nice to have an option when customizing to add better fans. I can run it perfect but I just can't play BDO remastered due to the noise.

Reinstall command center after uninstalling intel management controller. This will have OC controls working with Alienware’s command center.

Yup AWCC is a complete pile of wet toilet paper, but if you are like me and would like to have your desktops default program at least monitoring your hardware a tip I can give you is to download a specific version of AWCC for your desktop that isn't new and definitely don't download it from the microsoft store. Dell comps are trash with the new graphics cards, AWCC cant change or even enable fan speed with a lot of 2080 or 2070 models so you arent missing out. A Moderator on my post said AWCC is getting an update for the new cards late August.

I made the mistake of uninstalling AWCC and OC Control on a stable build of my R8 only to find that I could not reinstall OC Control. It would keep failing with 0x80070643 code. The funny thing is this:

https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware/AW-OC-error-0x80070643/td-p/7305941

So I started to think if maybe some new update caused non-OC built system owners like me to be shoved out of the OC Control user group. But didn't make sense because OC Control is also used for front and top fan control.

So I did all those things found online. Uninstalled a bunch of MS VC DLLs, some regedits, even a system restore. Nothing worked. Well, system restore didn't want to work for some other reason.

Finally did the old school solution: wipe clean and reinstall Windows.

Both AWCC and OC Control installed properly.
