Our users will need more data to correctly assist in troubleshooting. Post the specific Alienware Desktop model, operating system, AWCC version, anything else that might help.

One thing to check it services.

Go to start- run, type in services. This will open up the services tab.

In the services tab, go to AWCCservice, double click on it, make sure under startup type it says "automatic (Delayed Start)"

Similar issue for me in that windows updates are causing blue screens of death.

The Alienware support app that checks for updates sometimes crashes too.

R10, a few days old.

AWCC is a highly sophisticated app and many components are loaded at system startup. It is not surprising that some times the loading has glitches. I have seen this in R1/R2 of A51.  The program just gets more convoluted and sophisticated on newer versions.  With each new fancier feature there are more chances of suboptimal loading.  Of course Dell may write more versions to tune it, but don’t expect a perfectly smooth loading every time.

Actually, all the features it offers minus the RGB control, can be had with other aftermarket apps that not only offer much more features, but also a much better layout and help file.

The only reason why I keep it around is the RGB control.
