Area-51 R2, lights up then turns off
I went out of town for a week and powered down my desktop. Now it won't boot up. When pressing the power button, the fans and effects lighting turn on, then everything immediately powers off within a couple seconds. No beeps, no display image. Haven't installed anything new or updated firmware recently.
Tried disconnecting all external devices. Reseated ram. Disconnected and reconnected drives. Tried disconnecting the power cord and holding down the power button for a minute and then let it sit for 5 minutes as suggested in a post. No change. Running out of ideas.

Try replacing the cr2032 battery on the motherboard. Battery failures usually manifest after a period on no use.

The battery is the size of a quarter (coin).

I just unplugged and replugged the CMOS battery - solved. Be warned this resets your Bios settings to factory default. I had to reset time in BIOS and also disable UEFI capsule firmware updates (which I had previously disabled tp prevent auto bios updates)
