Alienware Update 4.1.0 question
I have a brand new Alienware R10 with Windows 10 Pro and AMD 5900X processor. I ran Alienware Update and it identified two software updates that needed to be installed. I clicked the install now button, and it seemed to download the update, but then nothing happened. The screen never changed. I waited about ten minutes and I saw nothing on the screen that said that it had been installed, or confirmed that it had been downloaded. I clicked out of Alienware Update and confirmed that the two updates had not been installed.
Is there a problem with Alienware Update App or am I doing something wrong in using it?
Also how is Alienware Update different from using Support Assist to check for "downloads and drivers'? Support Assist showed two driver updates available. Nothing about updates to Alienware software. Heeding warnings in the forums here I signed into support directly, and manually downloaded and installed the two updates. Yet when I ran Support Assist again after installing these two updates, it still says that I need to install the updates. Very confusing.
Thanks,
Greg

I think the problem was that I did not disable my antivirus. When I disabled it the installation process went smoothly.
