Area-51 R2, i7 6800k, wanting to swap processors
Hello,
I currently have a Alienware Area-51 R2 Intel core i7-6800K CPU
I want to switch the i7 chip out for the i7 6950x processor.
Dell technical support keeps giving me different answers as to if I can or cannot.
I only want to replace the chip if possible. The current motherboard alienware model is 09G12C.
If the motherboard can support it, which I have yet to get the answer, then I can proceed to swap the chip out.
Hopefully someone knows the correct answer and can help out...

Since that CPU was shipped in this model -- it should work.

Bios update first, then CPU upgrade next.
You know, to prevent the motherboard from bricking itself?
