Area-51 R2, three video cards?

and one 1080ti?

i ordered an additional pair of cables to try this as I have the 1500 psu, do you think it’s worth trying?

I know now it’s overkill but I would like to run VR with the 1080ti and the other two as SLI for gaming.

According to the reference guide, the system is compatible with 3 cards.  Now is it worth trying, each user has their personal preferences. I would think dual would be about the same performance as 3. But you have the PSU for it and you obviously know which programs you are going to be running. This from the manual.

Up to three PCI‑Express x16, single‑/double‑width, full length graphics card
Controller (Discrete)
Single AMD and NVDIA
Also supports Dual/Triple AMD and NVIDIA (SLI)
NOTE
: The graphics configuration of your desktop varies depending on the power
supply and graphics card configuration ordered.

Cool. Thank you for your response.

I will receive the cables tomorrow and try this and let you know what happens.

I am assuming that I can use the SLI 1080s for gaming and the 1080Ti alone for VR since it doesn't support SLI.

The PSU is 1500 so it should be capable.
