Aurora 15 Info Leaked

It appears the R15 should release shortly. It will now include a 240mm AIO, 13th Gen Intel CPU's along with Nvidia's 4xxx series GPU's. The side clear glass is now smaller with vents on the lower half of the glass area. The solid panel now has vents to pull in air. The rest of the system is should still be pretty much the same.

There are so many hurdles for Dell to overcome with the Gen 13 intel and 4000 series Nvidia that it would be safe to say "Avoid at all costs"..   If Dell can't even get XMP, overclocking, temps, PCIe slot compatibility and throttling issues sorted, then the hot plate sizzle about to get real for them because its only going to get harder....

Also, Nvidia have come out already advising the minimum spec PSU for the 4000 series GFX is 850W.   To be safe 1000W would be sensible, but I just can't see Dell doing it to meet eco regs..

So, for me, it's a definite no lol!

Doesn't that require a new mobo?

On my R10 it would have required a new R10. I do not believe they sell the Ryzen 5000 compatible motherboard separately.

On my ROG STRIX B550F Gaming WiFi motherboard, the one I plugged in the 3700X that I pulled from my R10, no. Just a BIOS update and it supports all AM4 Ryzen 3 to 9 CPU's that are available including the 9500X. I was contemplating getting the 5800X3D (also supported with latest BIOS version), but I decided against that because I do more than just gaming.

I also recently upgraded the RAM on that board from 16 GB corsair Red 3200 to 32 GB 3600 Corsair Vengeance RGB and strangely enough it just worked, including the RGB, without having to do anything. On an R10 that would have been quite the ordeal to get it to even boot up, let alone have it run at 3600 speeds and likely you can forget about the RGB working on an R10.

Very happy I used the R10 for parts, lol.

The luxuries of not having to deal with a Dell proprietary system.

Agreed.  I won't ever make that mistake again.

You need to go back in time. I am extremely happy with the performance of with my Area-51 R5.

Going to give the R10 to my son once I got the CPU swapped out. He is pumped because he's getting an Alienware.

The new Alienware Aurora R15 desktop sees a significant performance boost, thanks to the latest 13th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, NVIDIA®GeForce RTX® 40 Series GPUs and an armada of system refinements.

To achieve higher thermal efficiency and help ensure peak performance1, we’re equipping the following advancements with all 13th Gen Intel® Core K-Series configurations:

  • 240mm liquid cooling, with the option to upgrade to 240mm Cryo-tech liquid cooling.
  • Five 120mm fans: a 240mm LC unit serving as two exhaust fans up top, one more exhaust fan in the rear, and two intake fans up in front.
  • Hexagonal side-venting to generate additional airflow.
  • 12-phase, processor, voltage regulation helps enable long-lasting peak performance.
  • Voltage regulator heatsinks on the motherboard help ensure maximum cooling.
  • 80 Plus Platinum-rated power supply, delivering high levels of power efficiency
  • Increased memory speed to DDR5 4800MHz (or MT/s).
  • Defined memory architecture enables the highest speed UDIMM for faster performance.

With these advancements, we can deliver 58% more power to the processor2, obtain double digit performance improvements3, and simultaneously run the CPU up to 5˚ Celsius cooler. Additionally, our new thermal strategy increases system airflow by up to 19%, is up to 66% quieter in CPU intensive tasks and 9% quieter in GPU intensive tasks.4

(Learn more about Alienware’s thermal design philosophy and the parameters we adhere to here.)

The Aurora R15 now also includes up to a 1350W power supply (up from 1000W in the previous generation), designed to support NVIDIA’s flagship GeForce RTX® 4090 graphics card. Speaking of the graphics card, we repositioned the graphics slot to enable larger card designs (up to triple wide cards). In addition to offering NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series and 30 Series GPUs, Aurora R15 will also be configurable with AMD Radeon™ RX 6000 Series graphics.

Looks like I was right in my prediction. Remove 2 memory slots and now you can reach 4,800 instead of 4,400 Mhz on the RAM speed. A 400 Mhz improvement over the R13.

I guess XMP is out again.

12 phase VRM is ok, but there's no mention of the control.

58% more power to the processor sounds good, but that CPU is going to run really hot even with the 240 AIO.

I am passing on this one again based on those specifications. Sticking with my AM4 architecture.

Did not even have to pay for it, and I made some airflow improvements on it. He sure is lucky.

Just hope when I put in a retail 3060 it boots up without fussing over the video card. They can be fussy about that...

I am surprised at the 1350 Watt PSU. That will come close to the 15A capability of an outlet. I am thinking you might see some issues with random breaker trips when under maximum load.

1350W PSU option...  lol.  will that actually fit in the case?  I wonder what corners are cut to get this to work....

Yeah, noted that. At least it's more-properly placed now-days. The 240mm radiator sounds nice (and extra front fan).

Overall, looks like more-appropriate specs. With a new Intel-i9 and DDR5, do yall still need OC ability (wouldn't seem so to me, but I'm not an Over-Clocker).

Did I read that no RTX-4080 will be available at first? That would be kinda weird.
