Normal, AWCC does that on my R10 also. I tried everything, never got it resolved.

AWCC should still work properly, just does not start-up/shut down properly.

Good to know.  I tried a complete uninstall, followed by a fresh install of AWCC.  Seemed to really muddle things up.  Just ended up doing a system restore prior to uninstall and reinstall of AWCC.  Just going to accept the error for now.  Maybe it will work itself out from future updates.  /fingers crossed. Thanks for the response!

Yep, normal for AWCC on my R10 as well, tried all sorts of things to fix it and nothing worked. I just ignore it now as when it's running, it's fine

This all sounds un-acceptable to me.

I have reported this to my contacts at Dell.

Almost at every boot. Sometimes it manages to boot without the error. I tried everything, could never find a solution for it. It does work properly, so I gave up trying to fix it.

My reliability report almost shows the below for each boot:

In my opinion, If you have the first generation R10 then you should probably stick with BIOS version 1.0.8

@Vanadiel @"Almost at every boot."

Maybe a timing issue.  Try setting AWCC to start automatically with windows, especially if it is disabled or set to a delayed start in Microsoft management console.

It is, and it starts up fine, but generates the error almost at every startup.

Sometimes it's even 2 different errors. I am going to go on a limb and I am thinking the RGB control module of AWCC does not like the Aura Sync control of Armory Crate, the Asus application to control the RGB and keyboard settings of my ROG Claymore keyboard.

Reason why I am leaning towards this is because I had to turn the (rather hidden) option in AWCC off called AlienFX API. With that option on AWCC tries to change the RGB effects the keyboard uses based on which game you launch, causing the Aura affects to be turned off. It took me a while to find that out as I kept thinking Armory Crate was to blame for it...

Is it a simple uninstall or is it like the support video which guides you into the registry?

September 4th, 2021 13:00

Followed Dell online guide and video for a second time.  No dice.  Only thing I haven't tried is updating the BIOS.  It's 1.0.8, with some of the horror stories I have read with updating BIOS on a Alienware, I'm not going to attempt it anytime soon.  I've also noticed the read out tabs (AWCC) on Fusion, for the CPU, GPU, and ram will on occasion shift from being lightly gray to it's normal tone of black.  Is AWCC even necessary? Other than for controlling RGB?  Highly contemplating uninstalling it.

@Morbid Wookiee

@Vanadiel

Do you remember my warning about AWCC profiles and infection by 3rd party websites??

remote attacker with administrative credentials to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the interface.

The vulnerability exists because the web-based management interface does not properly validate user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by injecting malicious code into specific web pages of the interface. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the interface or access sensitive, browser-based information.

If you are running the Windows Store normally, it may close on its own and you may see an exception code 0xc000027b. This error is caused by incorrect time and date settings, via Internet access. Malware typically does this so that you won't get signature updates for windows defender and wont be routinely scanned.

Microsoft safety scanner download

Microsoft Safety Scanner is a scan tool designed to find and remove malware from Windows computers. Simply download it and run a scan to find malware and try to reverse changes made by identified threats.

Note

Starting November 2019, Safety Scanner will be SHA-2 signed exclusively. Your devices must be updated to support SHA-2 in order to run Safety Scanner. To learn more, see 2019 SHA-2 Code Signing Support requirement for Windows and WSUS.

Windows time and date:

  • Access the Start menu on your PC by clicking the Start button in the lower left corner of the screen.
  • Now type run and select the Run application from the results.
  • The program starts, and now you must type the command timedate.cpl in the Run dialog box.
  • Press Enter to submit the command.
  • This will open the date and time wizard for you.
  • On the top menu, click the Date and Time tab.
  • Click the Change Date and Time option.
  • Select the correct date and time based on your location and time zone. If you make a minor mistake in the time settings, Windows Store 0xc000027b crash exception happens.
  • When the time and date are set correctly, click OK to save your settings.
  • Close the wizard and reboot the device to see the changes.

I'm in the uk and AWCC is not available on the Microsoft Store, it has to be downloaded from Dell direct. It is a windows "app" but gets installed via a downloaded installer. This problem has benn from day one, as shipped to me. Multiple uninstalls and reinstalls and app updates. I'm now just resigned to this error being in my reliability monitor

@DexKen66

I'm in Alaska, same issue with AWCC not being available on the MS Store.  I've reinstalled AWCC 3 times now following Dell guides.  Prior to uninstalling AWCC, it displayed just fine for me.  Now there is strange flickering and artifacting/glitching on the tabs in Fusion section.  Pretty much given up.  My OS drive is literally brand new, was replaced 3 days ago, and the OS install is fresh.  I'm not about do a OS wipe and reinstall, yet, the system is stable, and these problems seem to isolated to AWCC.  Are there any alternatives to AWCC for RGB control?

Sadly I think the only way to control the RGB is thought AWCC
