I agree with windows update. I'd mostly us Alienware update just to update their primary software for Dell apps. Also even if not necessary, I always restart my PC also I update all apps from Dell first.
Exampl Alienware(Dell) apps update.. RESTART, then I'll do my system update stack (all criticals).

Thanks for the reply. Might switch to windows update - expect it's more reliable.
The problem was with an update that didn't complete properly from Alienware Update.
I went to the 'support assist' app (also from dell) and was able to redo the updates there.
Will switch to Windows update, many thanks!

Actually, you can just uninstall it.
Windows-11's Windows-Update will toss-you everything you need to run Windows.
