Traditionally yes, but the newer series of R10s seem ok with the HyperX Fury ram too, possibly even more so than the older original R10 boards.

There is a large thread dedicated to the R10 and memory configurations.

Be aware that what works for 1 person, might not for another. The only official supported memory for the R10 is the validated memory.

The most compatible RAM for Dell systems has always been Crucial. The RAM for your system can be found on this web page.

Confirm you are running the latest bios version 2.1.3 and test again under OC1.

The Dell support app didn't suggest there was a newer firmware so I didn't go looking.  There is and it sorted all my issues.  Now passing all memory tests, both windows and dell preboot diagnostics memory checks.

Thank you very much for the information on the HyperX Fury ram.  I read all the threads pertaining to the Aurora R10 memory.  With that information I decided to order the following ram: HyperX Fury Black 32GB 3466MHz DDR4 CL17 DIMM (Kit of 2) HX434C17FB4K2/32.  I hope this is the right ram which I will find out after I install it later today.  I will remove the OEM 16Gb stick and add the 2 sticks of HyperX Fury.  I will post an update after I get the results and run Cpuid CPU-Z to obtain test results. Thank you again for the help.
