Aurora R10, flashing yellow after adding ram

I’m trying to add to ram to my R10 and every time I do it flashes yellow twice and then again one more. Help me please.

I don’t know what aftermarket means, but the ram I brought was bran new and is a crucial ram which is tested my dell.

March 28th, 2022 10:00

It’s 8GB and is 3200MHz

The one I brought crucial ram is a DDr4 and on the website says it works and is tested.

If you purchased the OEM ram, it should work, as long as you do not mix and match different sized RAM modules or speeds. To my knowledge Dell does not use Crucial RAM modules.

If it is Crucial ram purchased from Crucial, there's only a few types that will work in the R10. Most will cause issues.

The only guaranteed compatible RAM modules for the R10 are:

0N6VG 16GB, HyperX Fury XMP DDR4, 3400MHz, 1GBx8, Unbuffered, 288 pin, Dual Rank, 1.35V, Non-ECC, Kingston X0N6VG-HYD2

You cannot mix different memory modules as that causes all kind of issues.

They all say that, but reality is often different.

Are you adding the memory module to your existing configuration, for 2 x 8 GB?

The one I’ve installed right now and is working had all of them apart from it’s a 1.2v and not a 1.25v. However on crucial website it states is it compatible with the r10

So I have to buy all the same? This is my third ram I have brought, the first sets of two was the same brands and didn’t work, this time I’m using the one that came with it HyperX and the one I brought crucial and the yellow flashing has stopped now

Your Aurora R10 shipped from Dell with one memory stick =
W21KG 8GB, XMP DDR4, 3200MHz, 1Gx64, Unbuffered, 288 pin, Single Rank, 1.25V, Non-ECC

So any 3rd party memory has to match all of those specifications. Even then it may not work.

Try the crucial RAM on its own. Mixing oem and aftermarket wont work. Crucial ballistix 3200Mhz CL16 should work fine with 1.35v. The auroras are picky with the memory though but crucial memory is reported to work in most cases. Works with no issues in my R10.

The Crucial one is working perfectly with the one that came with my pc, but going to by a second Crucial one

Crucial will state that, but if you look you will notice they even say DDR4 4000 is compatible, which it is not.

There's only a few known Crucial specific model numbers where success has been reported by other users on their R10.

You can try searching for the various threads on this board that list some of the models that work.
