Aurora R10, memory latency

Hello again everyone.

So I finally set up my R10 tonight and immediately noticed something off in Cpu Z.

My system has 64gb ram at 3400mhz 32x2 This memory has a CL of 20 which is slow enough to start with but it appears to be running at CL22.

It is running at 3400 or 3466 according to cpu z,

the bios is set to OC2.

The xmp profiles show that it should be 3400 at cl20.

Am I missing something?

Yes, I see Dell is still not understanding the Ryzen 5000 CPU behavior and selling these with the incorrect ram setup by the looks of it.

It is 20-23-23-55-75 at 1700 Mhz FSB. You are running it at 1730 Mhz, so it looks like the bios selected 22-23-23-55-80 as timings.

You are running your 3400 Mhz memory at 3460 Mhz, slightly over clocked.

As I was explaining in the other thread about this whole FSB issue, they should have provided you with 3600 Mhz memory and under clocked it. Instead they provided you with 3400 Mhz memory and over clocked it.

Now this might be ok, or it might not. Technically speaking they did not validate this configuration properly, because you should not validate with overclocked components since their stability cannot be guaranteed from system to system due to slight variances between components.
