Yes, those speeds on the memory tab indicate that you are running at 3200 Mhz speeds

If anyone is interested in only getting 16GB of ram non-RGB (2x8GB dual channel). You can purchase the model below.

G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit F4-3200C16D-16GVKB - Black

This will work for the R10.  What I had to do was update the bios from support.dell.com.  Manually configure the memory setting which I match from the memory package.

@k41 I'm considering similar Ripjaws 2x16GB F4-3200C16D-32GVR kit, which seems almost identical to yours. Were you able to get yours to run at 3200? What BIOS version did you have to upgrade to?

DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
Timing 16-18-18-38
CAS Latency 16
Voltage 1.35V

I downloaded the latest version on dell support for R10.

I get 3196 which is essentially 3200

This thread has been tremendously helpful, but I still want to post my failure here just as a data point so others are aware.

My R10 is 3600X + 5700XT + 550W Liquid Cooled if it matters. BIOS version is 1.0.7, 7/15/2020. I put in CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16 sticks as advised by @MobileGuru (big thank you to your tests). My observations are:

OC1: Now I can do OC1 at 3200MHz if I left the power on. Any time I turn it off and back on, I will have to go through the 3 times failure cycle with OC reset to disabled despite using the AMD version sticks.

OC2: OC2 is stable at 2666MHz.

AUTO: AUTO is stable at 2666MHz.

Customization: I also tried the customization option as mentioned by @k41 , in hope Dell has recified the setupwith the second BIOS update since my purchase. I left frequency as AUTO because there is no 3200MHz under the drop down menu, but put in other fields to 1.35V, and 16, 16, 18, 18, 36 in sequence according to the this page official tech specs. Unfortunately, magic didnt happen for this version of sticks as it went through the 3 times rebooting cycle and disabled OC. Looking at the bright side, at least it can reboot, as previous version of BIOS requires a physical CMOS clear, so that is the improvements and it enables more trials.

So the bottom line is that I can still select OC1 and never turn off the PC. I will play around of the customization options and report back if there is any useful findings. Meanwhile G Skill sticks may be the way to go.

@KNer Select 1600 since it will double

Thanks a lot. I did change the frequency to 1600 and also found I made a mistake previously because I keyed in different read and write tRCD. Now I have turned off and on twice and so far so good. Seems customization now supports multiple brands of RAM.

Honestly I couldnt care less about AWCC as long as the RAM runs at 3200. That application looks sloppy to me anyways.

@KNer

Seems like we all have different problems.

I'm using Corsair RGB, I set it to OC1, got 3200 and never looked back.

Works perfect every time I start up.

BUT, my AWCC does not show advance tabs for CPU or Memory, only GPU advance tab shows.

When I run Cinebench R20 with AWCC set to OC1 or OC2 or OFF, I always get the same score.

With my Area 51m, off, oc1 or oc2 (intel) all give different Cinebench R20 scores.

Dell support told me I shouldn't have advance tabs on cpu or ram... but everyone else does.

I installed AWCC over four times following all the steps to remove anything that was left behind.

@KNer glad it's working for you.   I updated to the latest BIOS to make sure it's still working for my Corsair at 3200 on oc1 setting and I'm not having any problems like you were from cold boot.  Maybe something to do with your 3600 vs 3700x that I have - I think the oc1 setting lets the CPU determine the memory speed settings, so if you're willing to set the manual settings that should work reliably.

Got my Aurora R10 and installed G.Skill Ripjaws F4-3200C16D-32GVK 2x16GB. BIOS upgraded to 1.07 and performed customization on the memory with the following settings.

https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/184/1536110922/F4-3200C16D-32GVK-Specification

Voltage: 1.35V
Memory Frequency: 1600MHz
Tcl: 16h Clk
Trcdrd: 18h Clk
Trcdwr: 18h Clk
Trp: 18h Clk
Tras: 38h Clk

Everything boots up fine, but on boot up apps are noticeably slower to load. Looking at the memory settings, timing is higher.

I am unhappy with the memory configs sold by Dell for an R10 3700X.  I would like more memory and faster memory. I see in the specs that Dell Alienware R10supports

  • 64 GB XMP at 3200 MHz

They sell HyperX and specify HyperX specifically for some configs, but otherwise, just XMP. Elsewhere in the Dell Community, I found the following interesting post by @MobileGuru :

https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-Desktops/Aurora-R10-memory-upgrade/td-p/7534537/page/9

He tests 2x16GB kits and finds that

  1. Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro AMD CL 16-18-18-36 CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16

performs better than

  1. Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro XMP CL 16-18-18-36 CMW32GX4M2C3200C16

despite the Dell spec. I am wondering whether others have had a similar experience.

Is it safe to extrapolate that 4x16GB of these memory options would perform similarly? Is there a 2x32GB option for this memory on the market, and if so, would it be safe to extrapolate from @MobilGuru's reports?

The memory specification from Corsair suggests that these DRAM4 models can be overclocked. Dell customer support phone stated that the motherboard could support up to 3900MHz which is faster than any of the specified memory.  I'd be interested to hear of anyone who has tried to overclocked Corsair Vengeance on an R10 or who has had success with faster memory models than the memory on Dell's list.

@banjo1000 I would not assume that 4 boards would work just because 2 did, but I would assume that 2x of the 32gb boards would work.  We received conflicting information from Dell Tech Support.  They specifically told me 3200 was the fastest the BIOS would support, and I looked at the release notes and (I think it was the v1.6 release) said that they added support for 3400 speed memory, so I’m not sure about that 3900 speed info.   I would be VERY interested to find if 3600 memory would work because it’s pretty affordable.

Hi I am trying to set my Corsair vengeance lpx 64gb to 3200. But it only runs at 2133

i try the auto and oc2.  Only runs 2133

and oc1  reboot 3 time and system reboot failed......

my bios is 1.07 so it shouldn’t have any problem....
