Aurora R10, memory upgrade
Hi, I have ordered a R10 with the 3700x, RTX 2070 super and 16GB of RAM. If I remember correctly it’s the hyperX fury 2666Mhz.
Since I’ll be doing video editing I wanted to get the 32GB 3200Mhz but the cost of doing so on the Dell website was significantly more than ordering the same RAM on Amazon...
I would like to order the RAM and I’m wondering if any 2X16GB 3200Mhx XMP kit work? Orb do you have recommendations for this Ryzen system? I found a couple of list for the other R systems but not specific to this motherboard so I would assume what is recommended/tested would be different.
And if that matters in your answer I actually don’t do much gaming at the moment but mainly video editing. I’m thinking 32GB would be enough for now but might consider getting another 32GB of the same memory later if needed. I had a look at the manual and it seems 4x16GB XMP would work.

BL2K16G32C16U4B are the ones i got. 32gb @3200.. Thanks soo much for all your help everyone especially @DN10 for suggesting Crucial BL2K16G32C16U4B.

This thread is invaluable. I purchased Viper Steel Series DDR4 (2x16GB) 3200MHz RAM and I'm having a lot of trouble with all of the XMP settings. Auto puts my speed to the stock 2133, OC2 puts it to 2133, and OC1 causes the computer to reset 3 times and load the BIOS. I have an outstanding thread about this too but figured it may be worth it to ask here as well. Is there any RAM configuration that can get me to 3200MHz while also having 32GB of RAM? At this point I don't care if I have 4 sticks of 8 or 2 sticks of 16, I just want to have 32GB of 3200 RAM to do some gaming.

@Husker22 I am returning the Viper RAM I bought as we speak.. I want something that's as plug and play as possible. The 2x16GB Crucial X you bought - did you have to set it to 16-18-18-36 or did it happen right after OC1? What RAM slots did you put it in, the second and fourth from the left? Also why did you need to manually reboot several times? I've heard some people can't boot with 3200, but can have it on and put their computer in sleep mode with it...

I'm having problems with my R10 (3700x/2080 super) not displaying the correct memory speed.
Currently, I have (1) 16gb stick and want to upgrade to dual channel 32gb for better fps during gaming and I'm utilizing 15.9gb/16 during gaming/editing. Where do i get an identical stick and does it go into the 2nd white slot?

@Scralatchtica824 assuming you have the OEM memory installed, if you want to get the identical stick, you have to get it from Dell. You can't get it anywhere else. That being said, the OEM memory is super over priced. You might as well just buy 2x 16GB of the Crucial Ballistix linked earlier for less and toss the OEM stick. (Of course, you'd be doing so at your own risk.)
With regards to the displayed memory speed, everything in your screenshots looks correct to me. 1600MHz is the "true" speed, and 3200MHz is the "marketed" speed due to DDR.

@Husker22, I'm noticing that you list HX432C16FB3K2/32, whereas others reporting success list HX432C16FB4K2/32. I suspect you have an older version of the memory.

Haha. I just tried the hyperx fury 3200 64gb HX432C16FB3K2 because it’s on sale, even hyperx can’t hold the 3200
oc2 and auto=2933
oc1 reboot 3 times and failed
are you serious???????????!!!!
I think you really need to do something with your alienware products
even oem brand hyperx fury can’t run the 3200 in your Alienware

I figured I'd make my contribution on my findings since I used this post as a reference many times.
Since learning through this post that the Aurora R10 (maybe other models as well, idk) uses hexadecimal in their values and not decimal, I was able to get my RAM to 3400Mhz @ CL14 using my G.Skill FlareX and running BIOS ver. 1.0.7
Please note I was also able to get these figures using the voltage set to 1.35V and 1.36V, all without issues.
And while I say "stable", I mean I've been running hours worth of games and used the Ryzen DRAM Calculator stress test to confirm there are no issues. However, I noticed if I turn off my system completely and turn it back on it will fail to boot 3 times and reset the OC, which then I have to set to custom again and set the settings again. This doesn't occur if I reboot so I'm not sure what the deal is with that.

I just installed 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (CMK32GX4M2B3200C16) and OC1 gets me 3200Mhz.
Looks like you are getting the same issue with me. I can put the system to sleep or restart no problem. As soon as I shut down and boot again it beeps and reboots 3 times to disable XMP.
