That’s similar to what I experienced with the non-AMD Corsair.  I think the model number should have a Z In it to work correctly with the 3000 series AMD  CPUs.   Like this:

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro AMD CL 16-18-18-36 CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16

As of this morning 22Sep2020, there was a price drop on Amazon for this memory kit for which several have reported success: Crucial Ballistix 3200 MHz DDR4 DRAM Desktop Gaming Memory Kit 32GB (16GBx2) CL16 BL2K16G32C16U4B (Black)  is currently $116. This is the lowest price I've seen for any of the 3200MHz 2x16GB=32GB memory kits mentioned in this thread. In my location, same-day Prime delivery. I've placed an order. Amazon customer service tells me they will allow a return if the memory is not compatible - hopefully, not a problem. I've ordered.

Let's see if Dell allows me to post a link:

Big "thank you" for all the valuable assistance in upgrading from 16 GB to 32 GB @ 3200 ... ordered, installed the Crucial Ballistix (link above  on this page) ... had to set XMP (?) to "OC1" and works well.

Hello people.

I somehow, with my harrowed credit history, managed to secure a Dell Preferred Account and just ordered my Aurora R10. I'm following most people's strategy to get the best CPU and GPU I could afford, but get the very baseline RAM so I can upgrade it later myself. The prices for better RAM through Dell configs are insane.

Long story short, as of right now, there is a Halloween promotion with HyperX - interesting time to have sales, but welcome nonetheless. They are giving a bunch of discounts on some products, but most notably, 16GB, 3200MHz modules of Fury RAM (just Fury, not Fury RGB). A kit of 2 I saw for $102, down from $142.

I was aiming for the Crucial Ballistix that everyone says works well enough so far, but the R10 is Dell-rated for HyperX Fury sticks and this discount is too good to pass up.

I just bought a kit of 4, in case I can make a four-slot 64GB configuration work. Anyone wanting to take advantage of this discount, jump on it now.

I'll update to this thread on how my system will work out once it arrives at my door. This conversation has been amazing! I learned a lot. Thank you all very much.

Oh, and before I forget, links!

Hi all, I have found this thread very helpful so feel the need to add my experience.

I had a R10 with 8GB RAM and decided to purchase the Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 32GB 3600MHz C18 AMD Ryzen Memory Kit. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082DH1FZR/?coliid=I2GT2L7KLNAFXK&colid=1C9DPTD6FSZFZ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Setting the Bios to Auto it selected OC2 and the ram booted at 2666MHz C18. Manually selecting OC1 the RAM works at a single speed of 1730 as reported in CPU-Z, not quite the rated 1798 XMP profile, I'm was happy with this without having to manually tweak any settings and risk loosing them after shut down. Alienware Command Centre reports the memory working at 3466 in dual channel.

@th0rp3y

Did the timings stay correct? I've seen some that alter the timings to something very slow.

Yes,the timings in ACC and CPU-Z have remained consistent even after the computer has been shut down overnight

Hello everyone

Here is my contribution.

I got the system with a 3900x; RTX 3080, and 16gb 3200 dual RAM

On cyber Monday I purchased the Trident Z F4-3200C16D-32GTZR  32GB kit / CL16-18-18-38

With both the Alienware command center (OC2) and through BIOS (OC1) the system with my Trident Z kit was able to achieve the 3200MHz, but was not stable.

As many have discovered, turning off the system and  turning it back on will trigger a reset, and send you into the BIOS with everything heavily tuned back down.

Playing with BIOS manual settings is not worth the hassle. I had to coin reset the BIOS twice; so not recommended. Although I could have entered something wrong, so probably my fault, but still, not worth it imo.

Finally to the good news (for now). I downloaded AMD Ryzen Master and simply selected one of their presets (creator mode, game mode, profile 1, and profile 2). It was creator mode just to start somewhere. within the mode I added RAM control by clicking the "exclude" tab, which toggles it to "include" I set everything to auto and only manually adjusted the RAM speed to 1600MHz (with matching fabric clock). I hit the "apply and test" button, and so far no issues, and quite easy to be honest.

The system restarted and ran the small stress test without issue. So far so good. I will leave the computer on for 24 hours after which I will turn off, and hopefully it sticks this time. I will do another update in a day or so... fingers crossed!

In my case the with the trident z, the timings did get slow (CL 22), both with command center OC2, and bios OC1. As mentioned in my post below. These were not stable anyway. So far I am happy with going the ryzen master route. No stability issues even after a windows update restart. Timings are slow also though, but at least now running 3200Mhz with the new kit. I will do an actual computer shutdown later this afternoon, and let you all know how that goes.

Update

Alright, so I can confirm relative success with the Trident Z RGB (I know RGB is pointless for this case, but got at a great deal) F4-3200C16D-32GTZR. Anyway, per my previous post, I achieved stable 3200MHz using AMD Ryzen Master. I was able to turn the system off and on without any issues.
One caveat though is that the timings are:
CL 22
tRCD 22
tRP 22
tRAS 53
tRC 75
CR 1T

So my conclusion in my experience is that if you already have a Kit, but it is not stable , then consider AMD Ryzen Master to see if you also have success with it, otherwise, try some of the other kits that people are having better luck with out of the box.

Cheers!

Hi,

I did the mistake of taking the upgraded 16G at 3400MHz and ended up single channel.

Based on Kingston, I found the memory I need:

https://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search?model=101351&devicetype=2&mfr=DEL&line=Alienware

KCP426ND8/16 (this is rank 2) -> SPD tab in CPU-Z says XMP 2.0

Memory is Kingston DDR4-2666

Praying it will work well so I can get dual channel 32GB.

I have a Ryzen 7 3700X with RTX 3070
