Aurora R10, no OC Controls in AWCC

Just received the machine this week, and right out of the box, there were no OC controls in AWCC.

On the Fusion tab, there are no profiles, and it just shows CPU, GPU, and Ram clocks/temps.

On the Home tab, in the bottom right, in the Overclock icon, it says N/A

Read the forums and realized you need to install OC Controls.  Did that and still nothing.

Installed all urgent and recommended updates, bios is now at 2.2.6, nothing.

Tried uninstalling AWCC and OC Controls with Revo Uninstaller and deleting all registry entries and leftover files, and reinstalling, and still nothing.

Read that if you mess with the BIOS settings, this can prevent AWCC from accessing the controls, reset everything to defaults, still nothing.  Set the OC controls to Auto, still nothing.

Thermal controls seem to be working, but not right after you start the machine up.

I really don't know what else I can do at this point.

Any help is appreciated.

What Ryzen CPU do you have installed?

In my (historically awful) experience of AWCC you'll probably need to reinstall Windows and then download & install AWCC fresh.

While the Ryzen models can be overclocked, overclocking is not always supported on the R10 models. I had the same issue with my R10 Ryzen 3000 back in the day.

That's a pain, if that's the case...  I'm going to be returning this machine as I found a better configuration for just a little bit more.

Boo on Dell if that's the case because the word overclock or overclocking appears 8 times on the features page for the R10, and explicitly in AWCC with a screenshot

You should check with @DELL-Cares on it but my R10 never supported overclocking no matter what I tried.

Yeah, IMHO returning the R10 with the 5800 (non-X) CPU and getting an R10 with an X-series Ryzen CPU is your best option for getting OC Profiles in AWCC working.

Alienware has not been clear in their marketing info or the user docs about whether non-X Ryzen CPUs have the OC feature enabled in AWCC's Fusion menu.

Thanks for sharing. The Gamers Nexus review of the R10's BIOS & setup notes that the CPU performance settings menu (i.e., the menu used for OC'ing) for non-X Ryzen processors is disabled. So it's not possible to setup an OC via the BIOS when a non-X Ryzen CPU is installed.

With AWCC release 5.5, Alienware has changed how AWCC add-in packages are installed. AWCC 5.5 FAQ #4 states, "Do not install the OC control package separately." I'm not sure how you installed the OC Controls package, but if you installed the package manually—the manual install could be why you don't see OC Profiles in the Fusion menu.

Ryzen Master and Afterburner seem to be working fine, just not AWCC.

I'll be contacting them next.

That was the issue I had with my R10. I could never get any PBO settings in my BIOS or AWCC to show any overclocking features, while other users had PBO options and AWCC OC features on their R10 under the same BIOS version.

I tried everything with no luck to ever get PBO settings to show up under the BIOS menu.

Ryzen master did work for OC, but you cannot apply the settings automatically.

The 5800 is unlocked for overclocking. That's the ome version cpu.

The question is: does Dell support it ! (Precision Boost Overdrive) for that cpu
