Aurora R10, upgrade using any RAM

I was so close to buying a new mobo and getting rid of my R10 chassis/mobo, until, I tried the base value for frequency and left the rest as Auto; it felt it might be useless as the frequency was allowing up to 3000MHz but some genius was probably thinking about allowing overclocks up to 6000MHz!

My XPG Gammix D10 3200MHz is now working flawlessly. Just set it to 1600MHz in bios.

Give it a try, it might be the solution you are looking for!

tldr: Set half of the expected frequency (or base frequency) in BIOS and leave the rest as auto. So if you want 3200MHz, set it to 1600MHz

You still can't just use any ram. Aurora boards will almost always reject higher than 1.35v kits

XPG Gammix D10 is 1.35v, so it's right on the border.
