Aurora R10, upgrading ram 16GB to 32GB

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10

I recently purchase the attached Aurora R10 and would like to double the ram from 16GB to 32GB.

I would like to know which of the two types offered is installed in my PC, the 3200 MHz or the 3466 MHz Fury?

Does it matter when choosing the additional, and just would like to make sure my pc has the slot for the upgrade?

Thanks in advance.

So does that mean that I will need to get two 16GB 3200 MHz because both slots are occupied with two 8GB ram?

And if I have to upgrade both, could I upgrade both to the 3400 MHz?

Oh okay, I didn't realize I had four slots, thanks!

So technically I could eventually upgrade to 128 GB of ram?

Last, I see that eBay listing and although it says it came from an R9, it will fit my R10?

you have 4 slots, you have currently only 2x8 GB in 2 slots with 2 other slots vacant.  you can get additional 2x8 GB of identical model DP/N W21KG if possible, or you can uninstall the current 2x8 GB and get 2x16 GB 3200/3400 ram (still 2 slots taken and 2 other slots vacant).

yes you can get Dell oem ram 3400.  I recommended this to another user, but if that user has not yet taken it, it may still be available.  HyperX Fury 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3400 RAM XJV223-MIE | eBay

both 3400 and 3200 MHz HyperX Fury Dell oem ram offered on R10.  not sure what you have but you can type in your R10 service tag on Dell support site to look inside Product Spec for memory model.

Re: Does it matter when choosing the additional

yes, it matters.  try to upgrade to same model Dell oem ram (can buy from third party).  mixing Dell ram of different model is not recommended. at best PC will boot but downclock memory, at worst it may not POST.

you have 2x 8GB Dell 3200 MHz ram.

370-AFLE : 16GB, 2x8GB, DDR4, 3200MHz, XM P
p/n
W21KG DIMM,8GB,3200,1R,8G,DR4,NU,XMP 2

either get identical 2x8 GB same DP/N W21KG

or get 2x16 GB, or 4x8 GB (all 4 sticks same model), and sell your current ram.

a good deal is USD$80 for 4x8GB sticks (sold out).  current market price is USD$120 obo for 2x16 sticks.

PS Dell mod will remove your service tag.

The fastest oem memory for the Ryzen R10 is 3466 not 3400. It’s not a big difference but the 3466Mhz rams are missing in the list. I posted the details here: https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-Desktops/Aurora-R10-won-t-utilize-XMP-profile-Corsair-Vengeance-LPX/m-p/8188265#M58341
