Did you check your Dell driver and download page for updated Windows 11 drivers?

Hi Mary

I followed your suggestion and checked the driver download area for my desktop. I still couldn't see a reference to Optane however there is a reference to 'Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver' and I'm starting to think that this could be the missing link. I'm not at my desktop at the moment but will download this and try it out later on. Fingers crossed. Best wishes and thanks again for your help, Ed

Hi Mary

To begin with, many thanks for replying to my request. Yes, I did check my driver and download page but there is nothing listed against Optane. There is a driver for Intel Rapid Storage technology but this doesn't refer to Optane. I have also tried to search the download pages help and again, can't find a reference to optane. Very confusing !

Hi Rhenium, many thanks for your reply. I have followed the link on the Dell site and it looks like Dell have a version of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver suitable for my R11 Aurora (version 17.11.0.1000, A05). It is marked as urgent in the dell download area. Do you think I should install it ? If I don't. I'm not sure how I can get Optane working after the clean windows 11 install. Any advice would be gratefully received. I won't move until I hear from you. All the best, Ed

Looks like it is part of RST drivers, so the best option is to download the Windows 11 RST drivers from Dell for your machine.

Hi Rhenium, thanks so much for all your help. Just chatting about it had made be feel a whole lot better. Optane looks a little bit like a minefield. I went on the Intel site first but am so glad I waited to hear from you. I'll download the drivers from the dell web site and give it a try. Fingers crossed ! All the best, Ed

Hi EdCo64, I've followed the link and it appears that there are 2 versions of the Optane memory, These are the H series and the M series. I've checked my alienware documentation but can't work out which Optane memory the PC is fitted with. Any idea how I can check this ? All the best, Ed

If you go to the official Dell drivers download web site, it will grab your service tag and identify all available downloads for your machine automatically.
