Aurora R11/R10 Processor and RAM Questions
Hey everyone, I am planning to purchase an Aurora and spec it with RTX 3070 graphics, 8GB 2933MHz RAM, 1000W power supply and liquid cooling. But I am unsure whether I should go with a Ryzen 3700X or an Intel i5-10600KF processor. Which would work better with an RTX 3070 GPU (and this setup in general)? Or would I just be better off upgrading to an Intel i7-10700K? (Please do give any suggestions to the setup if you have any)
Another question I have is if I am to upgrade the RAM by myself (to 16GB by adding extra 8GB RAM), do I just simply purchase the same RAM I already have in the PC and plug it in or do I have to go into BIOS etc.? Do I also need to purchase the HyperX RAM from Dell? As I have been told by some that only the HyperX RAM Dell sells will work with the Aurora (because they are special or something) and HyperX RAM sold from regular stores won't work. (It is much cheaper to upgrade the RAM by myself if it works (costing around £35 to buy another 8GB HyperX stick) than having it stock which costs £80 to upgrade)
Thank you very much for your help!

@Anonymous I would future proof to i9-10900K too if my wallet supports that Sadly it doesn't (most I can go for is i7-10700F, so I'll probably go with that in this case).
Thanks for the advice with the RAM, will have a think about it. Cheers!

I hate to say it, but Ryzen 3700X is not made for high-end gaming computing. It severely bottlenecks even an RTX 2070 Super in CPUPro's test, resulting in dropped frames. Intel i5-10600KF would be a better CPU to pair with RTX 3070.

Do not mix OEM RAM sticks and consumer-market RAM sticks, even if they are both Kingston HyperX. The Alienware OEM RAM uses proprietary technology. It has different CL timing, sequence, etc.
You can either:
1) Choose the desired 16GB RAM from factory, or
2) Buy a 2 x 8GB = 16GM RAM in the consumer-market, take out the OEM RAM, install new RAM, and go into BIOS to choose the correct XMP profile.
