Aurora R11 Video Card Problems

Question

I have had my R11 for less than 2 months and my GTX3080 has already failed and been or being replaced 2 times now. I'm starting to have buyers remorse, has anyone else been having video card problems? I've always built my own machines and have never had this kind of problem with a new machine.

I have a hard time believing there aren't heat problems as the case is so enclosed, not sure how air flow gets through to cool down the video card.

2 times is a lot. Do you mine crypto currency with it, or just gaming?

While I never experienced issues with my RTX 3080, I did notice some others reported issues with theirs on this board.

I think the general consensus is failure due to heat. I can not be sure of that and only DELL would be able to confirm this, but I honestly cannot think of anything else that could be common and cause cards to fail so early in their life cycle. Could also be a manufacturing defect of some kind, but I doubt it.

If you do get a replacement card, I would recommend downloading GPU-Z, a free utility, and keep an eye on the reported temperatures, especially the Ram Tjunction temperature.

Multiple users have reported theirs reaching 100 degrees during gaming sessions, which I think is to high to be good in the long run. It's still within Nvidia specs, but that does not mean it's a good thing.

With some changes to the default fan behavior those temperatures can be adjusted to low 80's, a much better value.

Keep us posted how things worked out for you, and hopefully you get this all sorted out.

Just gaming, I've never gotten into Crypto Currency.

My 3090 is working fine. I leave everything on balance mode then performance on gaming.  I get like below 70c while gaming and 30-36c idle.
