Aurora R11, installing PCIe 4X card with 2 NVMe slots

I am about to buy and install this card: QNAP Dual M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD expansion card (QM2-2P-344) with two M.2 Nvme ports in my Aurora R11 (i9-10900KF, RTX 3080) to install 2 additional SSDs (Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB). In requirements the card says it needs one PCIe Gen3 x 4 slot. The Aurora has 2 of them so theoretically it will work. My only concern is if it will fit in the case. Is there any chance the plastic stand holding the gpu in place might interfere with the installation of this card?

A bit blurry, sorry, but I think you can see that less than half the leads of a full length PCIe adapter are connected.

Not sure if this answers your question

I just bought and installed this card:

With this one I have PCIe 3.0 X 4 connection and I get full speed of Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB SSD. I will clone the WD SN730 1TB SSD to the Evo Plus and use it as my primary Drive. It is alot faster than the WD SN730 my Aurora R11 came with.

Photos of installed card and some benches:

Turns out the first card was faulty. The shop will send it back for the company to check it and will give me another one or my money back....

Yesterday I received a replacement card of the Raidsonic Icybox M.2 NVme Card. The replacement works perfectly. 3.5 Gb/sec read and write speed...

Somehow the first one was faulty...

Have you done some benchmarks? Seem identical to the one I sent before. I cannot find riitop in a shop here in Greece...

Hi all, I am looking at the same upgrade to add another SSD to my r11 and am thinking about either the m.2 pcie adapter card (like the ones you have in this post) but am concerned about how close it will be to the bottom of the GPU given the heat that an SSD puts out.  Anybody have views there?   The other less preferable alternative would be a standard sata SSD in the 2.5" drive bay to allow some more room but of course they aren't as fast, although I have read that for game play (FPS) it doesn't really matter which style of SSD is used (m.2 or sata ssd) as they both work way better than an HDD and in gaming you aren't using sustained read/write speeds anyhow where the m.2 nvme would perform better.

Get a simple Nvme Pcie 4X Adapter. The smaller the better. The one I installed is very small and I see only one to 2 degrees Celsius of temperature increment. Before installation the max temp was 74 and after I see 76 max temp...

M2 is NOT a slot its a connector.

There is sata M2 and PCIe M2

The Qnap card makes the M2 drives raid not 2 drives

OWC makes things like that
