Aurora R11, memory ordered not same as memory in system?

Question

Anybody have the issue where they ordered specific memory when they configured the system, but when running a diagnostics it shows a much lower Type?

Pretty sure I ordered my computer with 32GB dual-channel HyperX Fury DDR4 XMP at 3200MHz. However, I'm only seeing my memory modules set as two Kingston XN205T-MIE - DDR-2666 / PC21300 DDR4.

Why aren't they running at the given proper speeds as I purchased?

I ordered my Aurora R11 with 16GB HyperX Fury DDR4-3200. The part number that shows on mine is XW21KG-MIE. It uses XMP profile 2 in the BIOS. BTW, the ram is proprietary even though is marketed as HyperX ram. If you want to upgrade ram in the future, you'll have to buy it from Dell or replace all of it.

You do not mention what diagnostics software you ran. But, based on your private service tag number, we can see that you purchased two of the following memory sticks =
N205T 16GB HyperX Fury, DDR4, 3200MHz

N205T =
Kingston XN205T-MIE

Kingston XN205T-HYD2

As he stated, you have to set the memory using the XMP profile.

is this due to running stock 2666mhz and 3200 is set for voltage increase and overclock?

The XMP profile was set to XMP2 (XMP1) is the same. The software utilized was HWiNFO64. Size 32 GB clock - 1333MHZ CLOCK: 1596.1MHZ = 16.00 x 99.MHZ Dual Channel

Yes. Almost all RAM you buy is advertised at its overclock speed. The HyperX RAM that came in mine was 3200MHz, but with a base clock of 2400MHz.

@MeatRocket Thanks for the input. Mine's 3200 but set to 2666mhz. Good to know. Do you know if the RAM is proprietary ? Can I stick another 3200 MHZ per se from CORSAIR? or I have to purchase the ram from Dell?

I previously saw this, but i lost the feed, and you've saved my insane searchness.

As for ram - it stinks to have to replace all of it.

I was so irate when you posted it , not at you, but at the proprietary standard it was set for the modules.

Man, I actually have 32gb for now, which should be enough, but if I ever wanted to boost up to 64 or even more, I'd have to spend way more money then i've already spent on the $2k rig.

i'm on a budget for now but ill be sure to look into replacing the ram with the one you suggested. Looks like you lucked out with Plug and play and got 32GIGS
