Aurora R11, trouble with Portable Samsung SSD t7

I purchased a Portable Samsung SSD T7 a while back. I have noticed that while the product claimed it got up to 1,000 mb/s in write and read speeds, I'm only getting about 40 mb/s. I do believe I have the ssd plugged into the 3.2 type A port with using the cable that came in the SSD box. I'm wondering if maybe I need to buy a different cable, or maybe there's a setting somewhere I need to enable or something to increase the speed.

I have it plugged in to number 5 slot on the back panel. The cable that came from the box has the blue connector piece as well. I will say I get no notification about superspeed or anything. How would I know if UASP mode is enabled?

Performance may vary depending on host configuration. To reach maximum read/write speeds of up to 1,050/1,000 MB/s, respectively, the host device and connection cables must support USB 3.2 Gen 2 and the UASP mode must be enabled. Test system configuration: ASUS Z370 ROG MAXIMUS X APEX (USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C), Intel(R) Core i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz (Coffeelake), OS-Windows 10 RS6.

Also, there's only 1 USB 3.2 generation 2 port on the R11, and it does not support power delivery.

Im thinking that if I were to buy a new cable if that would help. Would this one be the one I'd need to increase the speed? USB 3.2 Gen 2 Superspeed 10gbps cable

I don't think a cable will make a difference, since the cable supplied with the device should be the correct cable.

If you are only getting 40 MB/sec, which is less than half of a slow 7,200 RPM spinning platter drive, your issue is something else.

Does this enclosure have a separate power supply?

No, it doesn't. I also just tried other ports and it is still the same speed.

You were correct as well, the cable made no difference. Also no matter what port I insert it into it remains the same speed, 40 mb/s.

This is odd. Would you happen to have a USB 3.0 stick you could try, to see what speeds you receive with it?

Also, are you using the DELL chipset drivers, or the Intel chipset drivers for the R11?

It is an intel chipset

Also, looks like you are not the only customer with 50 MB/sec transfer speeds: Samsung forum

Looks like a not so good product. T7 comparison

If you have the option, maybe look at a T5, as it seems to fair much better.
