Aurora R12, Alienware Client Service won't run, can't update AWCC
I can't update the AWCC (Alienware Command Center) because the Alienware Client Service won't run. They suggest deleting the following file or renaming it. Is this below the best way to resolve this problem or is there a better solution?
Solved: Inspiron G5 5500, problems updating AWCC (Error 1920) - Dell Community
I fixed it by starting the Alienware Client Management service
Search for Services on your start menu or press WindowsKey+R and type services.msc
Check if the Alienware Client Management service is Running (mine wasn't)
If not, try right click-start to run it.
If you are prompted with the following issue:
"Error 1053: "The service did not respond in a timely fashion" when attempting to start, try deleting or renaming the folder C:\ProgramData\dell\UpdateService\ , then try and start the service again.
Then you can update the Command Center with no issue
