The manual lists the M2 slot as PCIe 3.0 x 4, so your speeds will be around  3500MB/s Seq. reads  – 3300MB/s Seq. writes.

This will be dependent a bit on the brand/model # of the installed Nvme drive, but it should be able to get very close to it.

The RAM works, but there have been issues with the Gear modes and latency.

The latest bios seems to have resolved some of these issue, but there's still work to do.

This sticky lists the available validated RAM configurations and yours should come with one of these, pending on what you ordered: R12 validated RAM

It's a handy link as it also list a bunch of other items like manuals, drivers, etc...

You have dual channel 3,200 if it is configured as per that page.

Will work well.

Dual channel is 2 ram sticks in 2 different slots, so the system can read and write from both sticks at the same time. It is faster than single channel.

Dual rank and single rank is the way the memory chips are actually attached to the memory PCB. Single rank means they are all on the same side, dual rank means they are spaced out on both sides. This has no direct effect on performance.

I've bench marked the Dell supplied Micron 2300 512gb Nvme boot drive in my R12 (attached to the M2 slot).  "Real" speeds are around half of the PCIe 3.0 speeds mentioned above.  ~1500 read, 1300 write - pretty ordinary!!.

I ended up getting a 1Tb Samsung 980 Pro drive, and installing on the 2nd PCIe full size slot using an Nvme to PCIe adaptor (Silverstone) and this is netting right on the PCIe 3.0 speeds.  I've made this my boot drive and absolutely loving it!!

I'm not sure if the Micron SSD is just rubbish, or the M2 slot is heavily lagged...   but moving over to the PCIe slot is definitely the way to go IMO - halved my boot time and game load times too

The KIOXIA KXG60PNV2T04 NVMe 2Tb drive in my R10 operates at great speeds, hopefully you get a similar drive in your R12

Samsung PM981a, 512 GB was what my R10 came with.

Getting good speeds on it also. Benchmark is using the M2 slot:

Hello, I want to ask you that you have installed 980 pro and pcie4 x16 slot… What is the test speed? Should the reading speed be 6500~7000M?
