An update on my previous post, I've been using my R12 on bios 1.1.8 for a week now and haven't had any random freezing.  It's still too early to say that its fixed and won't happen again but so far so good.

My OS specs for refererence

Windows 10 Pro

version 21H2

OS Build 19044.1620

Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0

GeForce Game Ready Driver for the 3060ti is version 512.15

I give up... I don't think I'll be buying Dell again.

This sounds like a different issue than mine. Mine would hard lock randomly and the GPU fan would kick on at full blast, but it was never when I was using it or attempting to use it. The issue ONLY happens on Windows 11, but I'm not sure if that's because of the OS or because of something else (like sleep mode) that's preventing it from triggering.

I am not using the Dell-supplied Windows 10 image - I redownloaded from Microsoft directly. You may want to try wiping the C drive and starting from scratch using that. I will also note that I am running the latest BIOS and drivers and the issue is gone. Again, I'm chalking it up to an issue in Windows 11 that does not exist in Windows 10.

Which CPU/GPU do you have?

I'll give the 1.12 bios update a try! (It doesn't even show up in the SupportAssist app, but it's on the Dell website)

I'm running Windows 11 and Ubuntu (dual boot). Before the BIOS and Graphics card update it froze in both Windows 11 and Ubuntu. So far so good, but I have used mostly Ubuntu since the updates were installed.

I updated the R12 bios to 1.12, and my graphics drivers are also up to date, and it just froze again...

I also had the Alienware dashboard open at the time it froze so I could see the CPU and GPU temperatures and they were both around 105-111F. Perfectly within safe ranges. So it wasn't from overheating.

It keeps freezing and it requires a full on reboot!

So it sounds like bios 1.12 *might* be ok when used with windows 11.  Can anyone else confirm that 1.12 is stable with Windows 11?

Also, I don't think this issue is solved considering there are still people experiencing this issue.

Can someone at Dell please UN-mark this as SOLVED, as it clearly is still a persistent issue.

Does your GPU fan go full blast when this happens? I can't remember - has Dell replaced any parts for you yet? Yours almost sounds like a system fault of some kind. Wondering if the motherboard, CPU, or RAM need to be replaced...

I'm having the same issue on my R12.    At first, I thought it was the NahimicService that was causing this problem as it prevented several programs (Ultimaker Cura, Creality Slicer, Autodesk Fusion 360, Prusa Slicer, etc...) from working correctly.   However, my computer just froze and locked up with the only option to force shutdown and start.   Would like to see a solution for this.  I have another Windows 11 computer that works just fine and the only difference between the 2 is AWCC and OC.

I too have a 3080 equipped Aurora R12 that began freezing after I upgraded in place to Windows 11.

Funny thing is compared to many in here my system seemed the most stable at 1.1.9 and when I went to 1.1.10 it got the worst it had ever been.  Video drivers are up to date.  So then I tried 1.1.8 and it still froze just as much.  I just saw the new 1.1.12 release and I'm going to give that a try.  Will cross my fingers.

Like many in here it only freezes when I'm not using the machine.  That made me play with my power settings to see if that would help.  Perhaps the machine was freezing as a result of trying to go to sleep but no joy.

The machine works flawlessly for hours and hours if I am playing a game.  Totally backwards from what you would expect.  No I do not hear my system's fan kick into overdrive or anything like that before it happens.  I just look over at my monitor and see the wrong time is stuck on the screen.

I've been considering rolling back to W10 but I HATE reloading and reconfiguring.  I've actually been shutting it down when I'm done using it so I quit having to do hard shutdowns (to prevent corruption).

Sad thing is client tech support at Dell doesn't have near the skill needed troubleshoot something so completely strange.  I also constantly get the PCI Express error someone else on here mentioned.
