The temperature comes from a sensor on the CPU die and is internal to the CPU. You will not measure that when you feel around the CPU because of the pump assembly that holds liquid. It is highly unlikely that sensor failed.

You should contact @DELL-Cares to assess your warranty options.

Have you checked to see if the heat block from the cooler has come loose or is no longer sitting flush on top of the CPU? If it is no longer under warranty, I would inspect the thermal paste as that may no longer be any good. The purpose of the thermal paste is to transfer heat away from the CPU and you most certainly want to feel heat with the exhaust as that tells you it is doing it's job cooling the CPU.

Dell - Jesse Question: I am having a similar problem and I have opened a service request with the dell team. Is there anyway to escalate said request. I keep getting for the past 8 days now parts are delayed.

Less than 12 months old - Aurora R12 - Liquid Cooling Pump Fan broken

I like being proactive and while I noticed on Dell's website I could if I had money buy an entirely brand new computer and get it tomorrow. The Thermal paste. Liquid Cooling fan pump, heat sinks - these seem to be very small items that should be available are not in stock. Etc… also thank you for working on ways to get my part escalated so someone can come out this week.

This is my very first dell/alienware computer as I have always purchased HP before - I have to say I am dissapointed in what is the most expensive PC I have ever bought.

thank you kindly for your consideration and assistance in this matter.

Just had my pump-fan unit start failing and giving an OS hard stop on the boot test.  Can only get around after a ctrl-alt-del stop, and then the support asst hardware test also shows the cpu fan failing, anyway.

Day 13 of the original service call process passed, and now a full unit replacement process has started because no pump-fan replacement could be located for the Aurora R12.

No problem, except I just ordered and received a NEW Dell that I deliberately upgraded to 'liquid cooling', so let's see how long THAT one lasts and how long I need to extend the warranty.  The failed pumpfan unit also came, out-of-the-box, with a failed memory module that required a 'factory rep visit' before I could even run the out-of-the-box update process.

That means I'll be spending my time setting up 2 Dells as replacement units in the next couple weeks.  Well, at least 1 new and 1 checked out unit with the remaining extended warranty carried over.

I left HP because I wanted to avoid issues like this.  I hope this is the end of it for a few years, at the least.

Same issue. Went through the process on Dell website and got the message that the part is no longer available. So the pump- fan for my two year old computer has been discontinued? That is amazing Dell. I'm just out of my warranty as well. So fortunate. I am leaning towards buying a 3rd party replacement, but the thing is I am not even sure the pump fan is bad. I get the BIOs message every time I boot up, but I have not been able to run any test or see any temperatures that would suggest it is actually failing. Dell is no help because it's out of warranty. Just frustrating all around. Don't expect this sort of thing so soon with such a big investment.
