@F34R great that this works without any rash action. then n vidias new generation should also work with your option. when you get them in the system.....
It MIGHT work with a card that takes 3x8pin, BUT, I honesly wouldn't risk it. Also, consider that you're going to have to either get a watercooled hybrid card to fit, OR you're going to have to remove the PSU shroud to get a 4090FE card to fit. The EVGA 3080ti I have BARELY fit above the PSU shroud. You're going to need at least a half inch more clearance (13mm). Also, with the way the 12vhpwr connector is for the 4090, it's not going to fit properly in the R13 case.
@F34R the 4090 should also work with only 3 connections. Unfortunately, it looks like the 4080 will be the same size as the 4090 )-: was hoping to try it out... but if you already had space problems with your 3080ti, it probably won't work.
I saw that you also installed other fans. do you occasionally get an error message when you start your pc? i installed the noctua nf-a12x25 pwm and depending on which bios version is installed, a Fan Eorror at the system start. with an immediate reboot i can fix it for the moment.
I only have the error if I get some sort of crash reboot. I also keep my fans custom curve because their stock RPM is lower than the stock RPM of the Dell fans; in which you get the error. It's really rare for me to see the error though. I can't really test anything now since it was sold and delivered to new owner on Sunday.
The only way to know is to get one in the R15 and see if you can fit it in the R13. That list is only really telling you what they are allowing/supporting. I fit and was able to use a EVGA 3080ti which was a good bit larger than the size of the cards they use.
Hard to know if you can manage it unless someone tries.
It might not fit because of the thickness of the card. The card in the R13 is very close to the top of the PSU, and the 4090 is thicker than the predecessors.
I am thinking clearance issues with the PSU might not make this possible.
Welp. The 4090 in the R15 takes up two slots, and it looks like it would fit in the R13. The only issue will be that the R13 doesn't have the new power connector that the 4090 takes. Might can find an adapter, though.
I could have sworn they moved the motherboard up in the R15 to create more space between the PSU and that graphics card, so a 4090 would fit without touching the PSU shroud.

Do you think they will still put bar code stickers where the memory 'contacts' the heat sink?

I used a 2x6pin to 1x8pin adapter.

Hey @F34R
how did you create the 3 Plugs? Did you connect the 2 free pins with an 8 pin adapter? Or which solution did you use?

Yeah, I don't think it will fit either because the 4000 series cards take up three slots and surely Dell designed the R15/16 with that in mind.

Also, yikes on that cpu. It'll need to be undervolted for sure. You can get a decent undervolt on the 13900K w/o losing performance at all though.
