Yeah, sounds like a glitch. Thanks for reporting.

So, you are sure there is no boot-record or special partition on those drives?

What about with only a USB flash-drive inserted at boot?

IPV6, IPV4 sounds like a network-boot. Have you tried disabling that in BIOS?

Good Question - I just tried with a USB stick and it booted normally, however it has done that in the past but most times fails when any external is connected.  I have also just switch from the USB2.0 to the USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (although for the WD's it shouldn't matter).  I am starting to think "glich" as well.  I should not have to disconnect external drives to get a system to boot.

Re: I can not get it to boot successfully if I have my WD external drives attached. It will go to a boot fail screen and changes the boot sequence to IPV6, IPV4 and then windows. I need to reset the boot sequence, disconnect the drives and then it will boot normally.

the method Chris suggested may work.  I had seen this error of plugging a non bootable usb flash drive (FAT) in Dell causing boot error before and I had to unplug the drive to facilitate smooth error free drive.  One thing I don’t understand yet is after a successful OS installation in UEFI, “Windows boot manager” should be automatically on top of boot priority.  Therefore having a usb mass storage plugged in should not supplant that first priority.

Hello

I did look at Chris's option (F2 upon boot) - interestingly I only have UEFI as an option and NO USB devices show up in the "File Browser Del Boot Option".  I have unplugged one of my external drives and left the other plugged into the USB 3.2. Gen 1 port and I am no longer seeing this issue.   I am now going to go back to my original config and will start adding back the Externals and see if it related to just one drive or a combination of  drive/port.

If I am not mistaken, UEFI boot option would not show a usb drive that does not contain a bootable sector.
