wow, you sound like the perfect test bench, lol.

Can't wait to see you report on how it performs, thermals, fan noise and all that good stuff.

So you grabbed it with the 4090? Interesting to see the power draw on it, and if you grabbed the maximum Wattage PSU I am really interested in the socket dongle for it. Not quite sure what it is but I am assuming a fast acting breaker to avoid issues with a regular breaker should you use it for prolonged periods of time at maximum power draw.

Very nice! I am assuming 2.5 gig Ethernet?

I am going to wait until I have my new monitor and the new AMD cards are out, but I am contemplating swapping out my 3080 for something more exotic and hand it down to my son.

Some of those Black Friday deals sure look tempting...

What is interesting is that I was doing a mock build with the i9 and 4090 which came out cheaper than the standard $4500 R15 build. I was allowed to add any 1350w PSU and it did not require a Cryo-Tech AIO. Is there a huge difference in temperatures between the standard AIO and the Cryo-Tech version?

What's really head scratching is that on some builds it requires the Cryo-Tech AIO but with the cheapest config starting at $1799.99, I can add the 13900KF and pair it with the 4090 and I can pick a 1350w PSU with a solid panel and it doesn't reject the config.

With Slickdeals coupons I can snag the entire build for $3900 tax including and that's with 32GB of 4800Mhz RAM. The one thing I would not do is pay extra for the 5200XMP version. I don't know the timing and there's a chance the timing could be slower than the 4800Mhz sticks.

I doubt this is going to make a huge difference. It's still the same size. Maybe a few degrees at best I would say.

Airflow is going to be much more important.

Regarding airflow . . . I would try flipping the radiator fans to intake to draw cooler ambient air across the fin array. With 2 front intake and 1 rear exhaust, that may be sufficient to expel the warmer air.

This is not a good configuration for water cooling.

Or the 2 front fans 140 mm. 3 x 120 front intake would be much better config.

Or put the rad in the front and  exhaust with an additional 2 x 120 at the top.

Or another option would be 2 x 120 bottom intake fans, 2 x 120 front intake.

Not a good configuration for dust or cooling in that picture. You want more in than out, and you want a lot of cool air going in.

Any chance you could share the RTX 4090 dimensions with us? I would love to see how they compare to the previous Dell RTX 3090

I don’t think that information is available just yet. I checked the FAQ and there was no dimensions listed for the 4090..

However based on the available marketing photos, the 4090 appears to be similar in length to the 3090, if that helps while now taking up three slots.

Looking forward to your performance and cooling results and hopefully they gave you ever bit of and not leave anything out. I'm also tempting because I want that 4090 for VR purposes it has great reviews in the Flight sim world. Would be nice if they could of made the 4090/gps water-cooled in that case like they did with the 2080. Definitely make sure the 4090 power plug is seated properly.

Delivery is still tracking for mid-December. I will keep everyone updated when I receive the unit and test it. I'll be testing it pretty quickly. If they crippled it (too much), it will go back and just build my own. For over $4K, I hope they gave it some legs......

I”m curious to find out if: 1)  The R15 supports XMP 2) What the Cryo-Tech temps are. Under load.
