There seems to be some issue as others have reported in another thread they are having the same issue.

Seems to be a compatibility issue with the R5 and this line of cards.

UPDATE:

So, after a very late night and trying every possible configuration, I have it booting in UEFI mode with LEGACY ROM OPTION ON.

- Initially it would blue screen after presenting the Windows loading splash screen after the Alienware boot logo.
- I kept making it boot and eventually Windows ran an Auto-Repair on boot which allowed me to enter troubleshooting options and boot in safe mode.

- This got me into Windows at least.

- So then I reinstalled the 6900 XT and rebooted and Windows started as normal to my surprise.

- (When the card was out I just had the DP plugged into on-board GFX.)

- Downloaded and installed the drivers in Safe Mode.

- Rebooted and everything worked.

Again, I am booting using UEFI and Legacy ROM Option ON. I haven't tried booting in simply Legacy mode though I have a sneaky suspicion it would work, though I don't want to touch anything now it's working.

And performing very well!

Hope this helps someone (I don't know if any of the steps I did were necessary or why they worked/didn't work, I can just share what I did and what happened.)
