Aurora R5, no bootable device error
Alienware Aurora R5
Hello, so I’ve recently ran into an issue with booting up my dinosaur of an Alienware
I’ve ran into the “no bootable device” error. At first, I ran the ePSA and found it was the HDD. So I replaced it, ran the assessment again, everything checked out, went to boot it up again, and I’m still getting the error. I’ve tried resetting the CMOS battery, boot priorities, I even opened it up and made sure every connection was secure, and still, I’m getting the error. Searches have just given me non-answers or solutions I’ve already tried. Anyone know what else this could be? I’m at a loss.

Re: found it was the HDD. So I replaced it
you did not say that you had installed Windows or some other OS on the new hdd. If the new hdd had no OS it would explain why pc could not find a bootable device because it expected to find UEFI OS but could not find it.
another scenario, if new hdd has previously installed OS but was done via legacy bios, R5 bios is set as UEFI, pc also could not find bootable device because pc expects to find UEFI OS to boot from but could not find any.
typically after replacing hdd, do a clean Windows 10 OS install on it. Afterwards pc would find the hdd bootable.
