Aurora R5 power button blinking yellow and pc won’t start

I got home yesterday and updated my pc, and now whenever i try to turn it on the power button blinks yellow 3 times, stops and then blinks another 6, my keyboard and mouse both still have power so i’m guessing its not a power issue

Well, that doesn't mean much since the Power-Supply (SMPS) creates several different required voltages .

The PS should have a test button and LED on the back. The PDF manual describes how to use it.

Are you under warranty?

i don’t know if the warranty’s still active or not and i don’t know where the manual is

@Yason The 3,6 error code is indicating that the BIOS recovery image was not not found.  I've seen a couple of posts over the past couple of weeks from people with R5's that got a BIOS Upgrade Required prompt only to have their system bricked.  Did you notice perhaps if one of the updates it did was a BIOS update?

@Tesla1856  Didn't you just address this same issue with an R5 BIOS update with someone a couple of nights back?  It seems like I've seen several posts about bricked R5s after a BIOS update the last several weeks.

Yes, well ... there was ONE. First one I've seen in a while. They seem rare.

I thought this user just did a Windows Update from Microsoft.

Actually there have been at least 3 bricked R5s since March that I've seen (4 if this one did a BIOS update).  You commented on at least two of them.  ;)

Oh no, really? I guess I'm finally going senile. :TongueTied:

Too ... many  ... threads ... :Indifferent:

I wasn't sure exactly what updates his system did before it rebooted, so I asked for clarification.  Just found it odd that his system updated and immediately got an Alienware BIOS error code.

Any other trouble shooting on this? I am just getting a yellow button and it shuts right off. When I click the back it is green and it sounds like everything runs properly.

My son did some updates the other day and said a BIOS was one of them.  His motherboard completely bricked with just a yellow light turning on and shut down immediately.  I ordered a brand new case and power supply that just happened to have a "New" motherboard in it off eBay.  Well now I have a motherboard that does the 3,6 code and 3,7 code with the amber alien head.  2 motherboards waste of time and money because of a bios update.  And I'm way out of warranty.
