Here is an update on the AWCC issue I have been experiencing since the last Windows update.

Tesla1856 you have provided a partial fix in your posting to another user here also having AWCC issues of a different but possibly related.

The post is here Solved: Aurora R7, AWCC nightmare - Dell Community

And your solution about static electricity FLEA power seems to have stopped the AWCC crashing at entering/resuming sleep mode.

The other issue with the games I believe may be video card driver related and only happens if I'm using the video card's DSR function to make my resolution higher then my monitor's native screen res of 1920x1080. It also appears to be that only the system tray icon for the thermals is what is triggering the crash.  If opened on screen AWCC remains functioning but has a very short response time if adjusting any settings for thermals.

So I am going to mark this issue as solved.

I'm just curious Telsa, do you do a the fleapower  procedure on any sort of regular basis on your desktops.  I never have never ever experienced this sort of issue before.  At first I thought it was only for laptop and all in one computers.  But I decided it was worth the try, and low and behold it worked on my desktop.

What exact Model-and-Release is your Alienware? . Also, what version of Windows are you running on it?

I ask because those two things have a bearing on what max-version of AW-CC you are allowed to run on it.

As far as .Net Runtimes and Frameworks ... normally, you should allow any and all updates/patches/fixes that Microsoft offers you for them.

Finally, they can all be installed concurrently and in parallel to each other. It's the .Net App that looks for the appropriate .Net Framework to run on (not the other way around). If you are not using a particular Framework, it lays dormant.

It's Alienware Aurora R6 model bought in 2017. Windows 10 current version 22H2. So who is responsible for the software crashing after Windows updates then? Alienware/Dell, which I'm sure Microsoft will point the finger at, or Alienware who is the software owner programmer for the command center app? I mean it is a very much needed app as the fans speed will not change as needed if the apps not running. And yeah I know just restart your PC when that happens, but it is very inconvenient to have to do so. And what next if the command center on the next .Net app update, if I allow it totally messes up and no longer functions at all?

1. Then you are in luck because that is my current Windows daily-driver. Your proper version of AW-CC is v4.8.23.0. It works on Windows-10 (64 bit).

Even Windows-11:

2. Conceivably ... Alienware, Dell, and Microsoft (in that order). But with a machine this old and you have no Extended Support Contract ... YOU more-likely.

3. Agreed. That is why I'm also talking about it, documenting stuff about it, helping people keep it running, etc.

4. You will have to resolve the issue or leave it broken.

However, I would like to note ... my Aurora-R1 is 12 years old now, and the Aurora-R6 is 6 years old. Many different versions of AW-CC and Windows have been loaded onto both. They both still work fine. Never in all those years have I come across an AW-CC issue that wasn't correctable.

1. Great

2. Not really, maybe once every couple of years?

3. Correct. That is because laptops and AiO usually have come kind of micro-controller on the motherboard.

Thing is, many desktop computers now have similar micro-controllers.
