Aurora R6, i7-9700k not working?

I currently have an Intel i7-7700 cpu, and I went out and bought an i7-9700k. I installed it and tried to turn the computer on, the power button flashed on for a split second, the gpu led did the same and then everything shut off.

I replaced the old 7700 and it powered right back on. Both cpus have the same socket size so what am I doing wrong? Am I unable to upgrade from the 7700? Did I get the wrong processor? If I did, what processor can I use?
