Aurora R6, memory upgrade

The memory matrix in the R6 manual suggests that to run 32gb of RAM I need to install 4 x 8gb sticks.  I would prefer to install 2 x 16gb sticks.  Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?  I'm looking at this kit:

Kingston HyperX Fury Black Series32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 2666MHz CL16 DIMMs (HX426C16FB3K2/32)

The manual says it supports 16gb per slot, up to 64gb. I don't see why it would take 4 x 16gb, but not 2 x 16 gb.  If helpful, my R7 supports 2 x 16 gb, and 4 x 16gb, without issue.
