Aurora R7 RAM speed a question based on HWInfo Report.

What Speed does Alienware set the RAM for the Aurora R7 to run at?

When I check in HWInfo it tells me my 2666MHz RAM runs like this:

"Memory Speed: 1333.3 MHz (DDR4-2666 / PC4-21300)"

Did they for some reason have my RAM running at half speed?

Is there a reason?

How do I get it to run at the designed for speed?

Should I?

As you can tell I am not a BIOS wizard.

It's Double Data Rate ... so you "double it" ... your machine is working properly.

No problem. I feel the same way sometimes ... technology is always changing.

So just stumbled across this debate. Sorry to bump it, however I am running an i7-8700k with 32 gb ram that were supposed to run at 2933mhz. However they are only running at 1396mhz.

Got any idea bout that?

Im no bios superstar either.....

Cheers.

They will only hit that speed with most extreme machine Over-Clock and XMP2.

Personally, I think (stock) 2666mhz is fine and fast enough. I'll take stable over slightly-faster any day.
