Did you run any updates since turning it off last (before you turned back on and noticed the issue)?.

Perhaps and auto update...

Must have change your boot priorities with bios and somehow switched back after the hard reset. Next time, go into bios and look at your boot options, should be UEFI and have your windows drive as primary. 

Fixed itself, so you are lucky. I was lucky recently as well (after the latest bios update).

In my experience, you are best to come here and ask questions while researching resolutions yourself PRIOR to calling Dell.
