Aurora-R7, boot device failed

First time posting to a forum seeing if I can get an answer.

So yesterday I turned on my Alienware and while turning it on I received an error message saying boot device failure. Contacted the support team and spent like a total of 2+ hours trying to troubleshoot the problem. Ended up almost having to reinstall windows. While waiting for the support guy to call me back I said what the heck let me try turning it on to see if I can get past that issue. It turned on that time no errors or anything. Still ended up having the support guy run some tests on to see if the hard drive was failing or anything. Everything was running 100%. So I’m not sure What the problem is. Has this happened to anyone of you?

Did you run any updates since turning it off last (before you turned back on and noticed the issue)?.

Perhaps and auto update...

Must have change your boot priorities with bios and somehow switched back after the hard reset. Next time, go into bios and look at your boot options, should be UEFI and have your windows drive as primary.

Fixed itself, so you are lucky. I was lucky recently as well (after the latest bios update).

In my experience, you are best to come here and ask questions while researching resolutions yourself PRIOR to calling Dell.
