Aurora R7, memory upgrade issues

So, I just upgraded my R7 from, stock 16GB to 64GB of HyperX 2666 memory. The Bios see all the memory and has the correct memory speed listed. My issue is for some reason my boot times have more than tripled. From power up to desktop was taking about 20 seconds on average, now that number is over a minute. I've reset Bios to defaults and tried a Bios re-install with no changes. Any ideas

The problem with the Dell BIOS is that a lot of options present in a normal BIOS have been deactivated and hidden.  For instance, you can't see at boot whether or not the system is running a RAM validation test before bootup.  You can't see the boot sequence, instead all you see is an Alienware logo.

Can you try putting your old RAM back in just to rule out that the HyperX isn't the cause of the issue? If by doing so, boot times return to normal, you can also eliminate problems with the hard drive or SSD. On the other hand, if after reinstalling the old memory modules, boot time remains the same at close to or over a minute, then you could likely rule out RAM as the culprit and start troubleshooting elsewhere.

You also mentioned resetting the BIOS to defaults. Just double check that after having done so, options like XMP are turned off (at least for the purposes of testing).

BTW, what BIOS version are you using?

This most recent, 1.0.5.0. I'm beginning to believe it's a video card-monitor sync issue.

If it's a video card-monitor sync issue, does it affect both integrated graphics and discrete graphics? Do you just see that "Alienware" screen and the dots turning in the circular pattern?

Also try different configs of 2-3 sticks in different DIMM slots. It's worth running extensive DRAM diagnostics to find out if you're having issues with any of the sticks or slots or both.

I have resolved the issue, it was in fact a monitor sync problem. Went into monitor settings and had monitor re-auto detect and sync was re-established. After several reboots, both warm and cold. ALL appears to be good.

Thanks for the advice....

Most recent Aurora R7 BIOS version is 1.0.19. Older BIOS versions have iffy aftermarket RAM support (not that the latest version is much better).

I did not find your BIOS version in older versions BIOS. Could you double check? I installed the 64G 2666MHz HyperX RAM, but the PC even not booting. The yellow lights are flashing. Thanks a lot!
