Aurora R7, predefined profiles for overclocking
Does anyone have any fix for this issue? I fresh installed windows 10 and flashed my bios and after installing all my drivers I noticed that OC controls no longer works. Just says it's trying to download the profiles, then fails, and says the service cannot be started because of missing profiles (as shown in the picture). I read on the forums that others had this same problem and it was solved by using files dell sent to place in the OCControls folder in program files... however, these files are no longer available for me to download.
Update: my system is - liquid cooled i7 8700-K and 2x gtx 1080 SLI

My computer: Aurora R6, i7700K, OC Controls 1.04
The profiles are also compatible with the Aurora R7, i8700K

Interesting, as the Aurora R7 is not compatible with 1.04.
The R7 only works with 1.05. I have an Aurora R7 and the OC folder unpacked by the Dell.com OC controls app has a different file format, and which unpacks only just the CPU specific profile.
Are there 8th gen profiles in there?
The 1.04 version is only listed compatible with an R5 or R6.

The profiles also work with OC Controls 1.05. Your suggestions are not helping.

I made no suggestions. All I did was point to Dell materials to show 1.04 is not compatible with an R7.
So, I'm trying to understand why you believe that 1.04 profiles are compatible when per Dell the R7 is not compatible with 1.04 and you don't have an R7.
Applying an incorrect profile could damage the PC. The R7 doesn't pull the best profile from a zip folder. The profile to use is CPU specific and only the cpu specific profile should be used. You can't necessarily apply a 7700k overclock to an 8600k for example. Or an 8086k 5 ghz overclock to a 7600k.
So you have profiles for the unlocked 8th gen CPUs in there? If not, then people should know that per Dell's materials posted above this is not designed for an R7.

I didn't say that. You are complaining all the way. There are profiles for 8086K, 8700K, 8600K in there for the Aurora R7. The profiles are designed for R5 / R6 / R7. User itself should be intelligent enough to pick the right one out of these profiles. And also intelligent enough to pick the right version of OC Controls. In summary i don't get your point in posting and answering on this thread.

In any event, if these contain 8th gen canned Dell xtu profiles, then I don't have any other questions or concerns at this time. Thank you for posting and clarifying.

I was only asking why you believed 1.04 profiles were compatible with the R7 when Dell says the R7 is not compatible with 1.05. I did not look to see if 8th gen profiles are in there or to verify if this is dell profiles or modded profiles because I don't click on unknown links. Someone else who clicked on it mentioned it was a zip file with a large number of profiles, which is not provided by 1.05. It is on other versions but not on any compatible with the R7. So that was the point of inquiring as this is not provided with 1.05.
Your prior postings made no mention of system compatibility which I found confusing or potentially misleading for others who might click your link so at a minimum I was trying to narrow that down as it would be unlikely for this to work for every PC produced by Dell. Do note that I did not delete your post but instead was just asking for clarification.

The profiles in the link or zip file are provided by Dell itself.
