Aurora R7, ram upgrade question

I am trying to purchase a RAM upgrade for my alienware aurora R7. Currently i have 8Gb installed according to my computer page. I am considering upgrading to

ToxicTactics_0-1614544372213.pngMy concern is i have seen quite a few issues posted here about compatibility issues but that seemed to be when not replaced in sets. I am wondering since i am replacing the OEM cards as well will these work. Geek squad said yes But we all know how that goes.

If price is comparable get crucial sets for R7 which are guaranteed to work.

Test all both your MB slots/channels before you invest in quad sticks

Also, maybe it's just the time/shortages, but $500 is really really pricey for 64GB of 3000 RAM.  Even with the nice timings. Do you really need 64GB?  Not 32GB?   Having too much RAM won't make your PC any faster or help in any way, it will just not be utilized.

Oof, that's a lot of $$$ for 64 GB. Must be the dominator platinum series.

In all honesty, unless you need super tight timings you can likely find a lesser kit for roughly half that price, and still have good performance.

Those timings only matter if you want to squeeze every last bit of performance out of a system. the CL15 might not work well with your board. They typically require a higher end board to obtain CL15 timings. I don't think there's an Aurora that supports CL15 memory.
