Aurora R7, won't power on, test power button working
Hello!
I’ve had this Aurora R7 for quite some time now, however this is the first real issue i’ve had with it. I was on the pc as normal the night before, turned off the power through the power button, went to bed and tried to turn it on the next day and i got no response! At first even the power test wasn’t working, however after switching out power cables only the power test works but the actual button to turn on the pc is unresponsive, the LEDS won’t even turn on, any suggestions?

It works until you turn it off, then it gives me the 2-1 amber flashing code

@Anonymous @r72019
Alright, so i did end up having a cmos battery lying around, and when I replaced the old one with the new one, it turned on, on its own, and booted itself, the light became blue, turned off for a second and then rebooted itself again and now i am at a steady dark blue light. (I'm not near my monitor so i can't tell if this means it's booted or not but I'm guessing it is) However, when i did put it back to where my monitor is(i plugged it out), i plugged it in and boom, won't boot! did the same thing over again, i had to re-do the whole process and right now the pc's giving me a static blue light for a good 3 minutes with the fans running and everything. I'm at a loss, should i unplug it and try and move it again?

I am having the same exact issue with my system not powering on after touching the alien head to turn it off. I normally go through windows and restart the computer when im done gaming, but my fans were going crazy so I figured i needed to blow it out. I touched the alien head screen showed shutting down text and the power went off. Blew the whole system out with canned air and went to turn it back on and nothing....it wont turn on.
About to go buy a new battery. Crossing fingers that that fixes it.

@Anonymous I appreciate all this help you're giving me by the way... However Instead of moving it, i plugged out the cables and all, removed and put back the cmos battery, and it gave me a signal, i don't know if you seen the picture i sent, however it sends me to a supportassist page for Alienware, and what i see right now is
"Real time clock error"
"System CMOS checksum bad."
"Time-of-day not set- please run SETUP program"
Then i have "Continue" "BIOS setup" and "Diagnostics" at the bottom right

@Anonymous Nope! I had the power cable plugged out, and when I plugged it in it booted itself! Dont worry! SO here's whats going on, I got into the actual computer itself, I moved my monitor to where I was working on the pc and windows booted, i seen all my programs and everything, it was working, so i decided to move my monitor and pc back... and what i noticed is that everytime it powers off it goes back to the 2-1 amber blinking when trying to turn it back on. This changes when i take out the cmos battery and put it back in, it then gives a static blue light and a no signal to the DVI, even though i was in the PC earlier. I'm at a complete loss right now, if a piece of my pc went bad, how was i able to see everything so normally earlier? right? I'll trying doing what you said right now! Thanks!

I haven't re-seated anything unfortunately because i'm not as skilled with PC's and I would probably mess, up, however if I really need to do, I'll watch a few youtube videos. I thought I should let you know however that a system hardware diagnostic comes up with this error message
Cables- Check the following cables, jumper, connection or sensor.

@Anonymous So... I've literally been using the PC like normal, played some games w the boys and all that, however to get to that point I always have to reput the cmos battery in everytime the pc is shut down, so for now I just wont shut it down :). Thanks for the help! I'll be going somewhere to try and fix it!

Sorry for the delayed response. The real time clock and checksum error messages you are receiving still suggest a dead cmos battery to me. I'd suggest getting a new one and making sure it goes in the right direction. There may be other stuff too but I'd try a brand new battery and seeing where that leads.

To add to what @r72019 said, I actually had a similar issue when I did a case swap. The PC would shut down immediately every 3 seconds and it would continue this cycle. After removing the CMOS battery, the PC eventually succeeded in booting up after 3 attempts. The CMOS battery is the same thing as a CR2032 and you can literally walk inside a Target and buy one in the checkout lanes, a very cheap solution if you need to try it out.

Will do! I'll be getting a brand new CMOS battery ASAP, I want to mention I had an "urgent" bios update, don't know if that had anything to do with it, but it looks as though my pc is working just fine...
not 1, but 2 of those bios updates haha...
