Aurora R8, 4TB or 8TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD work?

We are running out of space on our 2TB NVMe SSD. I've read that it may not be possible to add another NVMe drive on the R8, so I was wondering if a 4TB or 8TB M.2 drive would work, if it replaced the 2 TB drive. Thanks!

That could get pricey. 8 TB M.2 SSD run around $1600. Even a 4 TB is around $1000. Better to get a large 2.5" SSD which is substantially cheaper (a 4 TB SATA SSD is around $450).  And if you leave the M.2 as a boot drive then you have fast startup performance. Then for gaming and every day computing the SATA SSD will be fine. This video has an interesting take on M.2 SSD compared to SATA SSD.

Agree with the prior post, a 4TB or 8TB M2 drive is not an economically realistic option.  You're looking at $1500 for an 8TB M2 NVME, and for that price you can buy a brand new current gen Alienware PC with an RTX 3060.

However, I would note that you can add up to 4 M2 NVME drives to your R8 (with the GPU on the lower slot) or 3 with it on the upper slot).  All you need is a $10 pcie adapter that you can get on amazon.
