Aurora R8, BIOS update, now not turning on
I know there was another thread about this https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-Desktops/Aurora-R11-Fusion-Service/td-p/8069562 but the same thing happened to me.
The last time my Dell R8 was on was when it asked me if I wanted to apply Windows update which it then did and applied a BIOS update as well. I had auto bios updates turned off and it still did it. I tried the unplug / replug and hit power button dozens of times and tried that several times several different days but I never even got it to come back on to startup however the green light / power supply is on.
I see the other thread was marked solved but I dont understand how it can be solved. I have owned a dozen dells and still have daily R10, M15 and M17 that I use but it is unacceptable that a BIOS update was applied without my permission that then bricks my system and Dell claims the issue is solved. If some solution / acknowledgement from Dell is not forthcoming by the time I need my next computer I will have to abandon them as an option out of principal.
I normally avg 1 computer a year purchase. I don't want to leave and if it had just broken I would not have cared but to have Dell push an update that I did not allow that breaks my system is not normal break down.

An Aurora-R8 is new enough to support BIOS-Recovery
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000132453/how-to-recover-the-bios-on-a-dell-computer-or-tablet
If you can't get that far:
- Unplug from wall
- Press power-button a few times to dissipate all flea-power
- Read Aurora-R8 Manual PDF (on a working computer)
- Set jumper for CMOS/BIOS Reset
- Remove CMOS coin-battery
- Let machine rest for about 8 hours
Reverse procedures, Reassemble and plug-in.
See if the embedded BIOS-Guard kicks-in and allows machine to now Post/Start.
If it starts, access BIOS and "Load Defaults".

See this official FAQ on this issue: R8/R9 not powering on.

Will try this weekend, thank you for another possible solution, other thread you mentioned would require at least making it to startup process which mine never has by using the reset button in back / hitting power button/unplugging official response.

Yes, the BIOS-Recovery Procedure and the BIOS-Guard Feature are two different things.
