It should since it says " NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 "

However, for one this large and expensive ... I would suggest a famous-maker one (Samsung, Intel, Kingston) and with a good warranty (that is honored).

Samsung-Pro models used to come with (longer lasting) MLC flash , but not sure about latest models. However, Samsung-Pro might be beyond your price-range in this size.

Also, one this big might need some additional help with the cooling.

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be compatible; 2280 are the correct dimensions, and the R8 has a M2 NVME PCiE slot.  Plus, if you look at the amazon reviews, other reviewers mentioned installing it in an R7 and R8.

I have decided to get a Seagate Firecuda 2tb NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD.It has a five year warranty and I have always had good support from Seagate. If this was a regular hard drive I would just clone the existing SSD and partition it myself. But I think I will take it to a local computer shop and have them do it.
