Aurora R8, Nvidia Control Panel questions
my son just got an aurora R8 with NVIDIA GeForce.... for the life of us we can't find the Nvidia Control panel.... it sometimes shows up under "hidden items" but when you click on it nothing happens. And before someone says, reinstall the drivers, keep in mind, I have no idea what you're talking about... and to make things worse, I've been a lifelong MAC person, so this is all new to me. That said, I can follow most computer instructions. Thanks in advance for any help.

There are a few things you can do.
Right click the desktop area and see if you can access the nvidia control panel that way.
If it still won't open. Do a search on cortana to see if you have the Geforce Experience installed (a companion to the control panel) If it's there it will likely ask you to create an account with Nvidia as it saves game profiles and such but does give access to the control panel and update features as well.
If none of that works. go to Nvidia.com and download the latest driver package. It's pretty straight forward. Drop down tabs etc. or install the auto detect feature to get at the latest drivers.

Thanks man. First we downloaded the GeForce experience which for some reason made his games (read: Fortnite) very laggy. So we uninstalled that and then, as you suggested, redownloaded the driver. All good....No lag and we now have the control panel.
Thanks again.

Re-install the app from the Microsoft Store. It is free.
